The Dolphins acquisition of Marshall gives them the best WR in the AFC East hands down. If everyone in the AFC East stays healthy and out of trouble, I think the Jets have the better WR Corps but the Pats have the better passing game. If Hartline improves on his successful rookie campaign, the Dolphins will have an excellent WR corps was well.
Best WR is brandon marshall yes. Best receiving corps goes to the Jets.... Best passing game is the patriots but with no welker that will suffer
"System receiver?" Never heard that one. All WRs play in systems, and all of those systems have routes for slot receivers. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but any player who has 100+ receptions for three straight years is damn good. You still have to run the route, get open, and catch the ball... and this is the NFL man. No one fakes their way into 300+ receptions over three seasons. Holmes is better? He's a solid #2, but that's a pretty bold statement. That said, with Welker's injury, I'd give the nod to the Jets. With a healthy Welker, the Pats have the edge. For now.
It's fair to call Welker a system WR because of the way they use him. He was basically their best running back.
i hate when the jets have to play against him but i have nothing but respect for welker. that being said i don't know if system reciever is the right way to describe him but it did take him working with one of the best qb's to ever play the game to become a legit threat. the way he is used by the pats can only be done with an elite qb like brady so some of his success does need to be attributed to the system they have up in new england.
OK, I see what you guys are saying. There's a legit point to that. He runs so many little bubble screens, etc. The other poster didn't really explain. I think the talent and potential was always there... Welker had some pretty good games against NE when he was still in Miami. Basically I look at him as a quicker and slightly more talented version of a Wayne Chrebet or Troy Brown.
