I really like Burnett, but not at 29.
Great pick in the 2nd, though.

For the second time in my TGG career I will say this:

I saw Wes Bunting and stopped reading.

Absolutely none of this had any proof or facts to go along with his "analysis" of both players. Clearly this is just one guys opinion on each prospect based on what he saw on game film. But yet I think it is pretty safe to say that if both Thomas and Burnett were on the board all 32 teams are going to take Thomas. So what does he know that every scout and GM of each team doesn't? He sure made his argument sound good but in the end this entire article is bullshit.

    Hahaha...yeah, it's hilarious.

I read about him a while back when The GM kept posting his articles.

I'm confused by this comment. At the end of the day it's all opinions. So all anyone can ask for and expect from any sportswriter, scout, poster, commentator you name it is good arguments to support their opinion. I don't see how that's bullshit.

I don't know anything about this Wes Bunting Character, but doesn't his argument regarding the pass happy division hold weight? In theory, it would make sense that if a Safety is in a league that passes 70% of the time that play recognition is made easier. If that is true, and he struggled against a more balanced Bama attack, then maybe there is something to it.

I don't like Thomas any less having read this, but it might be an additional adjustment for him coming into the NFL.

Well can those half dozen guys you referenced provide some intellectual counterpoints to his arguements IN THE ARTICLE? All I'm getting are attacks at his character and/or qualifications. All those may be true but in this article he put forth a solid, comprehensive and coherent breakdown of these 2 players and why he would select one vs the other. If you or anyone else disagree, let's hear why and not that he doesn't know what he is talking about.

I gotta agree with what this guy said...I thought the article addressed some interesting points about both players.

To be fair..you have a point.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, including Wes Bunting. The author, Bunting has had a few articles posted at TGG in the past that were so egregious.

Bunting's reputation has taken a big hit by members on this draft site and we dismiss him as laughable and not credible.

Bunting has made some solid points about both players. I just don't understand the orginal premise of the article. IMO, comparing Thomas and Burnett is like comparing apples and oranges. Why not compare Berry and Thomas???...both are closer in value and ability.

I can only speculate that he believes Thomas and Burnett are closer in ability and value than Thomas and Berry. If I am right about that, I have to say that I agree with the assessment. I honestly feel that Mayock has a lot to do Thomas rated so high to the point that some feel he and Berry are inerchangeable. I don't see them being that close.

    I disagree!

Berry and Thomas are alot closer in talent......than Thomas and Burnett.

What I take from that is one guy is questionable up close but can move to center field, and the other while a decent SS prospect has effort, and game skill issues....But hey, What does Brandt know?

(and as far as Burnett, is Leonhard going somewhere?)
