The Jets passing game will only be as good as Mark Sanchez allows it to be. The Patriots passing game is dominant and will continue to be so even without Welker.

As of right now I consider Holmes 1a and Edwards 1b (mostly due to the drops) but I have always been one of Braylon's biggest supporters on this site.

Edwards does have a head start to the season though.

By far the best play of the year, not including implications such as playoffs.

I just watched it about 8 times.

Another thing that should be pointed out is that Moss (33) is 6 years older than our oldest receiver who I believe is Cotchery who turns 28 in June.

There's no limit to the amount of times I can watch that play and still be impressed.

Edit: I'd like to see the results of this poll from a more neutral place.

On receiver talent alone, Jets. Moss is still solid receiver but he's not what he was a couple years ago. Welker is a fine reciever but made much better by a QB and offensive system that gets him constant mismatches.

But, that said, the better passing game still belongs to the Patriots at this time, they have the better offensive system geared towards it, and at this point in both QB's careers Brady is the better QB. In a couple years how will it shake out? who knows, all depends on Sanchez's development, but right now the edge is clearly with the Patriots system and QB in terms of the passing game. Now, give Brady our receivers or give our receivers Brady and put them in the same type of system the Patriots use for a passiing attack and it'd be clear the Jets receiving corp is superior at this point in time.

I think the Jets have a top 3 WR trio in the NFL, possibly the best. I think Randy Moss and Welker are too much to overcome and still have a significant advantage over Edwards and Holmes. Edwards is the X factor. If he plays to his abilities, he is easily our best WR and, in my eyes, better then Welker and pushes our WR corps passed theirs. We have more quantity they have better quality.

Welker is the only game breaker they have.

I can understand as a Jets fan that you forgot about Moss....but against 30 teams he is still a top receiver.

I still don't understand how that play was overturned....it is definitely a TD.

If Welker was healthy, this question wouldn't really be up for debate...him and randy together is too good. But without him, their WR corps isn't really all that impressive. They just happen to have one of the best QBs ever.

Even if Welker was healthy, I do understand the fact that the Jets would probably have the DEEPER corps, but I don't think that would make up for how good Randy and Wes are together. Once again, irrelevant now though. Even if Welker does come back, theres no way he will be what he was. He relied on his legs (obviously).

The fact that we are even discussing this gets me pumped. This was our one weak spot, turned strength.

Welker's injury makes this a Jets win.

Is he out for the season? If so, then it's the Jets by a mile(until the draft).

    Well...

    Moss:
Getting old, irritable, and still doesn't have that ring. The fire may be burning out for him...

Welker: Great, when he had two healthy knees. I'd file this one away in the same folder that Leon Washington's leg injury is in. He may never be the same...

Edleman: Mini Welker, but not nearly as good.

Crumpler: Im pretty sure hes the slowest TE in the league.

    Edge: Jets

Too bad they still have Tom Brady.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt after 3 straight 100+ REC/1000 YD seasons. I love the potential of Edwards/Holmes/Cotchery but look at their body of work compared to Moss/Welker. For 2010, when healthy, they are probably the best tandem in the NFL.

Now that Welker is hurting, I'd give edge to the Jets. But on paper, the Welker/Moss tandem is still lights-out.

You know I was always wicked pissed that they overturned that TD. But I have literally watched this small clip over 100 times since it happened. It is just my favorite play of the year and I get pumped every time I watch it.

Watching the slow mo over, and over, and over again it does appear that the nose of the football is literally a foot or less from the endzone when BE's lower half of his leg hits the ground.

So my new complaint has been is that the fucking dolphags coach Spirano challenging the play. I mean I know he's the coach and that's what he is paid to do, but he had to be out of his mind if he thought the Jets weren't going to get 6 the next play. Let's just keep the pace of the game going smoothly you fucktard.

Sometimes I am not sure who I hate more, the Red Sox or the Dolphags. The Pats are 1mm below their line of hatred.

I love what Edwards did on that play but that throw by Sanchez was fuckin baller...goes through his progressions, steps up and delivers a strike for what should have been a TD

BTW, Edwards should have had 3 TDs that game :shit:

He's getting help because he is in the perfect system but that doesn't make him a "system receiver". If you want to label a guy a "system receiver", ask yourself the following question, "Can Todd Pinkston do that"?

I have never heard of a "system receiver" before... Do they exist?

And no, Holmes is not better than Welker. The guy has had 3 100 catch seasons give him some credit.

and PS... Revis has his own Island, he doesn't co-op with anyone.
