New England getting torched by Cotchery. You gotta love it.

I like counting the picks used for players as drafted players.

The Jets have those 5 selections, plus Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes.

    Good draft so far.

2011 3rd rounder that can be a 2011 2nd if incentives are met.

So next year, one of our draft picks will be Antonio Cromartie.

Now that will be good or bad depending on whether or not he is resigned. I think if there is money left over after the big 3 sign (Revis, Mangold, Brick) then Harris, then Cromartie... so we'll see.

Conditional 3rd in 2011 that could escalate to a 2nd.

    EDIT: Damn it, too slow.

Yeah, that's a really good way to look at it. In fact, it's not a good draft so far, it's a great draft so far. We got two known commodities for those two picks and the draft hasn't even started. You'll hardly ever see that in a regular draft pick.

Tannenbaum is geared for NOW. He smells SB and I don't blame him. We're gearing up for the big run.

Everyone's billing Jerricho Cotchery as a slot receiver now. He's a team first guy, I think it'll be a smooth transition and that he'll help us more there.

We'll probably experiment with 3-wide sets in the preseason. I expect a similar offense to last year's until Holmes gets back in the flow after week 4.

    Who is everyone?

I still think Cotchery is better on the outside with Holmes in the slot.

If there has to be an official order, this ought to be it:
    1. Braylon
    2. Cotch
    3. Holmes
But the smart thing to do is mix it up and have each one spend a little time in the slot to confuse defenses.

On a separate note, we didn't have Braylon for the first 4 games of 2009 either, and we gave up even more for him than we did for Holmes. I really haven't seen anyone who has a problem with this move, but if anyone still does, I really don't understand their thought process.

Yes but the advantage here is that Holmes will have all of OTAs, camps, and preseason...Braylon just stepped right in.

(I'm not disagreeing or agreeing with anything in your post...just saying)

I feel like Cotchery will be the slot guy in a 3 WR set. However in a 2 WR set you'll probably see Cotch and Edwards on the field with Holmes on the sideline.

I might be mistaken, but wasn't Holmes used a lot in the slot last year with the Steelers? I read somewhere after the trade was made that this was the case. Can anyone who watched the Steelers on a more consistent basis weigh in on this?

Either way, I would put Holmes in the slot. I think he would fit even better in that position than Cotch.

I am not sure but with Hines ward and the emergence of Mike Wallace I'm sure they mixed it up a lot.

They would switch Ward, Wallace and Holmes around at times between the outside and slot, depending on the match ups.

I can see Cotch and Holmes being alternated into the slot in a similar manner.

Cotchery can't stretch the field like Edwards and Holmes. Jerricho knows this and he's a team guy, that's why he'll accept any role the team gives him and excel at it. It's too soon to tell how Schotty plans to use all these guys because Holmes hasn't played a snap for us yet. However, it's pretty safe to say our receivers are going to look the same as they did against the Colts (in the AFCC), in week 1 against (this is just a wild shot in the dark) the Patriots.

    From his Twitter...

Love it! Hopefully he knows we do that every time he scores, so he better score a lot!

I dont doubt it. Sanchez is going to rack up the yards with this offense.
