At least we know you are awake now and ready to put peoples opinions in their place. Iggy King, your way, the only way.
Yeah, the addition of Holmes will greatly improve his numbers in 3 and 4 WR sets, and the poor 2 WR stats also show the lack of a viable checkdown option in the backfield once Leon got hurt last year. That should improve greatly as well.
My post has been hijacked once again. Clemens is a whole another issue, I am talking about our Franchise QB that could not run 20 feet right now. And of course the kids all positive and pumped, I would not expect anything less. Hell, he strired the bowl of kool-aid. I stand-by my thoughts and hope he's 100% August 1st.
your post wasn't hijacked. Sanchez's rehab is on schedule...he's fortified the starting QB position.....what the fuck is the reason for your paranoia? If anything....Clemens being on the roster and the lack of a reputable veteran presence is the only cause of concern regarding the QB position.
I'm really not sure how to take that, but that chart you posted was great. I had a feeling the numbers broke somewhat like that, but I had never seen that. I'm sorry. I don't think anyone was trying to hijack the post. You mentioned Clemens in the original post as a concern, so I'm not sure how he's a whole other issue. I get the concern with Sanchez rehabbing, but it was a pretty standard procedure for QBs that he underwent. He'll miss OTAs, but not training camp. I'm not really too concerned about that, but I can appreciate your concern. The point with Clemens, which again, you mentioned in the OP, is that a veteran QB wasn't going to be brought in until Clemens could be dealt with. We're hoping to get ANYTHING for him, and that fleeting hope becomes nonexistent once we already have his replacement. We couldn't trade him until he signed his tender. He was holding out hope that someone would pounce on the 3rd round tender. No one did. He finally signed today, as Sanchez Prime pointed out, and now he can be traded. I don't think it's untoward to have faith that the FO will deal him now that it can, and that we'll finally see a veteran backup brought in. Again, not trying to hijack the post, just trying to address your concerns.
Fair enough. I should have excluded Clemens since there are many posts on him. I will admit if we had a decent backup I would not concerned at all. What can I tell you, they said it was minor and its 2 months later.
When he got the surgery it was reported that he would more then likely miss all of OTA's. First you have to recover from your knee being probed (could take around a month, maybe more) and then you have to rehab it so it's back into game shape. These things take more then 1 week to heal and get back into shape, you need to relax.
Tom Cruise's testicles are right, sec314.....Sanchez had knee problems before joining the Jets....I'd rather him take the time required to rehab his knee correctly and be ready for TC at 100%....then rush him back for OTA's...only to risk him re-injuring himself.
That's a good point. The expectations certainly did change after the surgery, and it does appear it was a bit more involved than the original prognosis. Like I said, I can certainly understand the concern. I guess I'm not as worried simply because he now says he's feeling good (and this wasn't a press source, or anything. No reason to lie.), and we have 3 months until the start of TC. He's used the time well, too.
I agree with you. I'm looking at the progress Sanchez made in the last 6 games plus playoffs and saw a maturation that came about like flicking on a switch. He just all of a sudden seemed to get it. I think the FO/CS is putting such a good on field cast around Sanchez that i don't see him as to big of a question mark. The offense is going to be so explosive that, now get ready to throw up in your mouths, even Clemens could drive the bus for awhile. That being said GET MARK BRUNELL!
I really don't understand what your issue is. The QB went through a surgery and he needs time to heel up. Its normal. You are making it sound like its been 8 months since the surgery and Sanchez hasn't even left the hospital bed yet. Him being in the bed isn't going to throw off his chemistry he had built last year so its not like he's regressing. If anything, he will get better on his own. Add Santonio Holmes play and the progression only picks up pace. Why are all your threads soo pessimistic?
That last line is unfair. Sec314 had a huge turnaround last season on the pessimism. He has a concern here that's somewhat valid given the change in the recovery timetable already.
I guess I just catch the obvious ones then lol. I dislike (hate is a strong word infact) pessimistic fans. They make us look miserable.
Its April i agree with the OP we should be in full pads !! lol! This front office deserves some respect and trust from the fanbase , sanchez will be fine and for once our franchise is in good hamds from top to bottom ( ghost0
any stats on Mark during the regular season don't count because the light went on in January. The game slowed down for him around week 15 and he took the next step in his progression. If anything we should look at the playoffs, because that's the Sanchez we are going to see come next Fall.
In order for the NYJ to seriously contend in the future, Mark Sanchez has to progress. If he can move into the next 'level' of QBs in the NFL we will be deadly. All the talent on this team will be magnified if Sanchez pans out to be the franchise. BTW, I'm not worried about his knees.
