According to SI, here's the 16 players attending the draft: Suh Bradford McCoy Okung Bulaga Trent Williams E. Berry Spiller Joe Haden Brandon Ghee J. Best Lamarr Houston Dan Williams J. Odrick Bay Bay Thomas Derrick Morgan http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20.../04/13/draft.invitees.ap/index.html?eref=sihp
Ghee and Houston could be sitting in that room for awhile....hopefully they bring some reading material.
As could Best. San Diego may reach for him, but I doubt it. And what happens to those not picked on Day 1? Are they invited to Day 2?
Roger Goodell is such an idiot. ...moving the draft to primetime is one of the worst decisions he's made. Lamarr Houston will more than likely be a third round pick. I feel bad for that kid.
I remember when the draft was Saturday and Sunday......much easier to plan and implement a draft party......now i'm forced to book friday off, because I'll be too hung over from watching the first round on a fuckin' WEEKDAY!!!
Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't have minded 1st round Friday night and then the rest over weekend but WTF Thursday is ridiculous.
I agree 100%. 3 days is ridiculous. I guess the only possible advantage of breaking it up between 3 days is you have an extra night to review who surprisingly fell and who's still available. One reason we may have been so good in the 4th rd these past few years is because we can reset and further evaluate who is still on the board and maybe do some extra homework on some leftovers after day 1 of the draft. Or the extra night may not affect the draft in a positive way at all.
This. I don't really mind spreading it out over three days or making it primetime, but putting the 1st on Thursday is just stupid. I doubt this format will continue next year.
Who picks up Clausen? Some jerk on ESPN suggested Chiefs might grab him and if they don't, Raiders will.
I'm sure some of these guys (Ghee, Houston) don't even care that they will be sitting. It's been a dream of theirs since they were kids to be drafted, and they just want their name called and to walk out. The media/ESPN won't attack them like they would Tebow/Clausen and just constantly make it about them, so let them enjoy it
I think Clausen falls to Buffalo. How could they not draft him? They haven't had a qb since they ran Flutie out of town.
I'm praying that its a total fucking failure with the draft on primetime and gooddell puts the draft back where it belongs - on the weekends where parties can be held.
Its worse in the UK the f*king thing doesnt even start until gone Midnight so I have had to book the Friday off.
This. Is this the Draft being broadcast anywhere or do I have to suffer the shitty NFL stream again? The frame rate was so bad last year I thought I was watching a Buster Keaton film.
Here is a list as of 04/13/10. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d81778aa7&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true Those new players are: Bradford, Florida CB Joe Haden, Clemson RB C.J. Spiller, Wake Forest CB Brandon Ghee, Iowa OT Bryan Bulaga, Texas DT Lamarr Houston, Georgia Tech WR Demaryius Thomas, Cal RB Jahvid Best. Those players join a list that already included: Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh, Oklahoma DT Gerald McCoy, Oklahoma State OT Russell Okung, Georgia Tech DE Derrick Morgan, Oklahoma OT Trent Williams, Tennessee DT Dan Williams, Tennessee S Eric Berry, and Penn State DT Jared Odrick. Invites remain out to the other three top quarterbacks -- Jimmy Clausen, Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy, according to a source. The league may also still invite other players. With a full three days of the draft now in order, the NFL is inviting more players, and some likely to go outside the first round. The draft takes place April 22-24 in New York, with players arriving the 20th for charity events and league duties. The unveiling of the top 10 draft picks of all-time, as selected by fan voting, will take place during the draft as well. The league released the top 20 picks last week.
