    You've made this very difficult.

IMO, the Jets might take Taylor Mays.

    I'm taking...BPA

    I would take Devin McCourty.

I'm a firm believer that Rex wants more depth in our secondary. We've all heard that Rex never has enough corners. I love the possibilty of Devin being our 3rd corner and special team ace. Rex's system relies on multiple corners. A Cromatie has one year to prove himself. Also, Lowery could be an option to move to safety.

I'm not reaching for Linval Joesph or Cam Thomas at # 29.

I might actually take Linval Joseph here, but I think Rex might take McCourty.

Weatherspoon is probably the top rated OLB so if he's still there at 29 it would be hard to pass on him.

Terrance Cody is a beast, and he'd provide some much needed depth to our defensive line.

McCourty would make me feel a little better about facing high octane passing offenses like the Colts, Saints, Texans, Chargers, Packers, and Patriots.

I'd be satisfed with any of these 3. I really wouldn't mind some help at OL, but all of the guys I like in the 1st are off your board already.

EDIT: I would add Mays to my list as well. He may have bust potential, but he also has the potential to make this defense downright scary. At pick 29 I think he might be worth the risk.

Given our lack of depth on our Dline....I'd probably take a look at any one of these guys: Carlos Dunlap, Ricky Sapp, Terrence Cody or Cam Thomas.

I'm only advocating these guys....because of who you've pulled off the board already. :)

Weatherspoon is not a 3-4 OLB.

Cody will be a solid run stuffer in the NFL, but he's a one dimensional player. The Jets need to go after linemen that can play in multiple schemes and in multiple positions.

I like Devin McCourty, but in my opinion, he's a mid second round prospect.

I'd rather go after a corner like Javy Arenas (Bama) or Quan Thompson (Cal) later in the draft and they can provide similar things - good in run support and good special teamers.

    I feel the same way.

Now I kinda feel like i copped out picking 3-4 players.

If I had to make a pick with those players off the board, I think I'd go DT Terrence Cody, 'Bama.

Guys...I'm not trying to speak for Jabba. IMO, Jabba wants you to be the Jet's GM and make ONE selection...(No Trades)

Maybe we can track everyone's selection.

Listing four or five takes the point out of this thread.

    Exactly right, WW

    The scenario is this ...

You are the Jets GM, the 28 Players I listed all went off the board ahead of the Jets, now you are on the clock and there are no trade partners to be had, and its time to submit THE PICK

If that really is how the board plays out I hope we trade out of #29... but if I HAD to make a pick it would be McCourty no doubt. BPA, can contribute straight away (on ST as well) and we need more cover guys in our backfield...

Again, that is the worst possible scenario for the Jets so I think we try to trade down as hard as we can if that's the case.

I do however feel one of the OLB's will drop to #29... my bet is Kindle.

PS Poole and E. Smith are both physical FS... why do some of you want a third one in Mays!?

I'd like to learn a little more about Weatherspoon, but from what I've seen I feel like he has the speed and hustle to succeed as an OLB in a 3-4. I've also heard nothing but good things about his football instincts as well as his leadership and attitude. I think getting an all around solid OLB would be a good thing for this teams future. A more polished pass rusher may suit our more immediate needs, but someone had to steal Kindle out from under us.

I definitely agree with you here. I thought about going with Dunlap, but I like the idea of another giant run stopper in the middle of our D. Jenkins and Pouha are getting older, and this team needs defensive lineman who specialize against the run. Ryan doesn't seem to concerned with run stoppers in his secondary as evidenced by the Cromartie signing, and Harris is the only real tackling machine behind our linemen (I feel like Scott can do it too, but he seems to be used more for blowing up the blockers). With Revis and Cro in the backfield, I think it's important to sure up our run stopping for the next few years.

Why couldn't you have let Wilson fall to us Jabba!
