He'll participate in all of training camp, and is eligible to begin playing in games in Week 5. The Jets consider it a great problem to have, but Holmes' role when his season starts is uncertain. While he is the team's best talent at receiver, the Jets may be hesitant to immediately install him as a starter. It's possible that he'll start out as only a deep threat in three-receiver sets. His upside limited by a run-first offense and New York's slew of other passing-game weapons, Holmes will be an underwhelming fantasy pick.
only as a deep threat??? While he also has a case of the drops, its no where near as often as BE's drops... your out of your mind... And why would the be hesitant to put him in the mix??? With him, Cotchery, Edwards and Kellar on the field its a coverage nightmare for opposing coordinators... and at the same time it opens up running lanes... Hesitant my ass, as soon as he can he'll be on the field as often as possible.
Everyone thought we were f'ed without Pace for the first four games last year. We played lights out on defense without him.
id still much rather have holmes for 12 games than whoever the steelers get with our 5th rounder for 16 games
I sure hope Sanchez gets some practice time in with him before the suspension starts otherwise it's gonna be a while before they're on the same page.
