A former Superbowl MVP (only 2 seasons ago, mind you) for a 5th round pick? As much as I'm glad the Yankees and baseball are back, I want the Jets season to start ASAP.
Like I said many pages back, the problem will be if he gets charged in Florida. That girl he supposedly hit in the face with the class has reopened the criminal complaint as well as filed a suit against him. If he gets charged he will probably be gone for the year as he is already suspended for the first 4 games. If that happens and this is the last year on his contract he may never step foot on the field for the Jets.
They reported that someone else has come forward and said that he, not Holmes, threw the drink. I don't think we're going to see charges in the case.
The story I read said it was a glass of juice, which immediatley proved it was not Holmes that threw it.
How much production can we expect out of a fifth round pick...especially during the first four weeks of the season? This was a hell of a move, even with the suspension.
I think the jets see they can sign him next year for 3-4 million / keep Braylon and maybe trade Jco at the start of next season as he is due about 3.5 i think in 2011. Then they can draft the young slot receiver in a very top heavy wr draft. Whatever way they do it its a great trade , 12 games off a no1 receiver for a LOW 5th is value whatever way you chalk it up
No way that Cotchery goes. He's the one "sure thing" in this WR corps and will remain an Jet for many years. He's Mr. YAC!
I love the guy tbh (gay!) but its a business and if they have to move cotch to keep the other two if they perform then so be it. I would hate it but could see it happening as he would have good value in a trade in 11.
I really doubt we'll keep both Holmes and BE. Holmes will want more than that and we still have to resign BE for just as much. One or both will be gone.
