Seems like Tanny is making us a true win now team (even with Sanchez only being a 2nd year QB). With that in mind, who do you think would have to fall to what slot to make Tanny trade up to get him (i.e., a highly regarded safety or pass rusher), or do you think it is really not likely that we'll be trading up (I have no true opinion, just having fun thinking about it).

The Jets have to bring in depth this year. I don't think we'll give up any more picks to move up.

We've already acquired two receivers for draft picks. We have to build the defensive line now.

Jets still need an edge passer rusher for the future. Even if we sign Jason Taylor he would only be short term. I also agree we need to draft for depth, maybe look for a RT to eventually replace Woody and look for some more help at D-Line.

I'm thinking that we could move up because, as the OP stated, we seem to be making moves to win it all in 2010. That being said i could maybe see us making a move for a monster pass rusher in the draft even if it requires trading up.
As crazy as this may sound could you imagine if Haynesworth came our way via trade? His contract is not as bad as most people think but i'm not sure how good he would be in our style D.
Would anyone be interested in trading Harris for Haynesworth? Personally i'm not for that but i figured it would start up some shit.Just askin.

I would not trade Harris for Haynesworth, the kid is the heart of our defense. However, If I'm Tannenbaum I would at least see what the asking price is for Haynesworth. Imagine a front 7 of Jenkins, Ellis, Haynesworth, Scott, Pace, Harris, JT(or hopefully Kindle!)... beastly.

Id like to see us drop down into the 2nd round and get another 4th or 5th.

    First 2 picks
    Cam Thomas
    Linval Joseph

Then go with some OL depth and CB depth.

As bad as it seems the Skins wanna get rid of him i'd hope Tanny tries to steal another beast to add to our D.
I'm sure that we could get him for a lot less the hanging Harris out for bait.

^ Haynesworth doesn't want to play in the 3-4. That's the reason why he's acting like a complete bitch in Washington...because they're switching to a 3-4 scheme.

I think he'd be fine playing DE on the Jets D. With all the blitzing we do and the tights coverage we get from our corners, I think he'd have plenty opportunities to make the highlight plays I'm sure he's looking for.

He just doesn't wanna play the space eater NT position where he's just absorbing blockers so others can make the play. This is speculation of course, but I just can't see him being adverse to jumping on the Rex Ryan bandwagon.

I cant imagine the Jets trading Harris unless someone offered us a blockbuster trade. He is a beast in the middle of our defense and plays his heart out. Plus Haynesworth is lazy and only plays hard when he wants to get a big contract which he got. Pass on that idea.

    If we're going with Baseless......trade our 2nd for a 3rd, 4th, 5th (picks 80, 112, 144 just about add up).

Next, sign RFA Elvis Dumervil and surrender our 1st and 3rd.

    Remaining picks: 4, 4, 6, 7
Draft: Depth, with a nod toward maybe a DT and a CB in the 4th, and some O-line depth in the 6/7th.

Given Mike T's draft history - even despite the lack of picks - I wouldn't be surprised if a trade up occured for Jared Odrick, Sergio Kindle or Brandon Graham, which wouldn't disappoint me TOO much since they would all be fantastic additions.

But given the depth and talent of this class through and through, I'd LOVE to see a trade down.

And seeing as how Mike T and co. aren't afraid to make moves in the offseason (and so far I have nothing but great things to say about most of them), I think it's a pretty good bet that they don't stay put at 29

While watching ESPN, Kiper and McShay both say we should take Jerry Hughes. I wish I had NFL Network so I could not watch this shit. I'm kind of glad McShay said this because it means we won't pick him.

as much as we know Tanny for trading up, he won't shut up about depth this year.

I think he knows he needs to stay put and just let the draft come to him and take the BPA.

its that kind of draft this year.
