Santonio Holmes a Jet - For a 5th Round Pick!

You don't draft for one year, this would be a perfect situation to bring in a young WR as he learns from watching a trio of really good pros then when one or two of them are gone after this season the young WR can step in and be better prepared to play.

 

I got a text last night from IJR telling me this and I was in shock.

Now I think Holmes is a real piece of garbage for his off the field stuff but the guy can ball. He's not going to be suspended for his "throwing a glass at a woman" but instead for his substance abuse.

That being said I think it's stupid the NFL suspends guys if they smoke pot as it offers no benefit but rules are rules. I'm sure he can play in the preseason and practice with the team until his suspension is over but lets hope there is no suspension and it's all smoke.

Tanny is ruthless, talk about coming out of left field. Can you imagine the phone call between Tanny and the Steelers? I don't think anybody saw this coming inclusing anybody on the Jets roster or Holmes himself.

 

So now we are going to exchange Carrie Rhodes' Twitter on the front page for Santonio Holmes?

holmes is a total douche and we have to count on rex ryan and vets like alan faneca and rex ryan to whoop his ass in line plus he will miss the first 4 games of next yr

it's still a 5th round pick for a legit talent. it's kinda hard to dislike the deal because the price was so low.

For only a 5th? I'm OK with it. The Jets aren't rebuilding. We're making a run right now. A good player for one year is more important than a lower round pick. If it was a 2nd or 3rd, I'd have a different opinion.
