This doesn't make much sense to me. I'd imagine the Steelers could have at least nabbed a 3rd or 4th from somebody, no? Steal for the Jets, though. That's one nasty WR core.
We don't have the best receiving corps in the NFL, there are still a couple teams ahead of us like the Cardinals, Vikings, and maybe the Saints. And until Edwards gets his act together we don't even have a dominant #1.
So huge... this just made my night. How were the Steelers not able to shop him around and get something better than a 5th? Or at least move him out of the AFC... what a bad move. I see most people saying Holmes will be in the slot, but I would think Cotchery would play the slot with Edwards and Holmes playing wideout. Cotch always made sense to me as a slot receiver anyways. This way you have Holmes and Edwards battling it out for next years roster spot, and then we draft the replacement for whoever performs the worst in the 2011 draft... so much wideout talent coming in next year. Don't get me wrong, Cotchery is easily my favorite Jets receiver and I feel more comfortable throwing to him when we ned a big catch than anyone else on our roster, but I don't think he has the athletic ability Holmes or Edwards have. He just makes more sense in the slot to me.
Boldin is out. Saints are not incredibly talented at WR, they just have Brees. The Vikings are a good argument.
