Really? Are they? Has even one person said that signing Taylor removes the need to draft a pass rusher? I don't think I've seen anyone say that on here, and I'm damn sure that the Jets FO and coaching staff don't think that.

What they have said - well, I have anyway - is that signing Taylor would remove the need for an OLB taken in the draft to immediately come into the side, start 16 regular season games and be a 20 sack monster, which is an awful lot of pressure to put onto a rookie. So signing Taylor = a good idea, I think.

P.S. I don't work on Wall St and I'm not offended. I'm really amused by the idea that someone would be upset about a football player, and one who makes his living purely by bashing himself into another player at that, suggesting that they're not Stephen Hawking.

i cant compare cox to taylor, cox was a good tough player who talked too much... taylor is a "prancing gaylord" who was never tough or very good at anything other than rushing the passer.

i cant stand him and do not want to see him on this team, it makes me sick just hearing everyone talk about it and say its ok. becoming a jet doesnt forgive all past doucheries. fuck him

    You're wrong, as usual.

    44 forced fumbles
    9 TDs
    8 INTs
    127.5 sacks

Do you not understand why we're signing him? Taylor's job will be to rush the passer, so it's pretty important for him to be "very good" at it.

Maybe the reasons for getting Taylor are 2 fold: Get a pass rushing specialist to platoon with Thomas. A last ditch effort to get someone in here to teach Gholston a thing or two about getting to the QB?

I don't know about you, but I'm glad I'm not Stephen Hawking.

Whatever. Prancing Gaylord for the win. I can't wait to screech and throw peanut shells from the 300's I was bankrupted into. Hell, I might even Sharpie 'Fukk you, assh*le', 'I hate you, die' on them. Hopefully the blitzkrieg will make it onto the field.

Speaking of which, where is BLITZKRIEG? Too lazy to look it up. He's probably reading how it never worked in the end. OK, I'm full of puns today, so "LATER!"

First of all next time you decide to quote my post actually READ it. I stated that I hate how mock drafts such as Walterfootball, CBS Sports, Drafttek, and others I have read that are updated consistenly have us passing players like Kindle and Graham stating that we have JT and don't have a need at OLB until later ( 5th-6th rnds) which I am saying is ridicoulus. Also I am clearly not expecting a rookie to step in and just crush the competition but I do expect us to groom one that would in time. Obviously Rex knows how to work the draft and have full confidence in him but for these writers to say we won't is idiotic.

This is a point that really cannot be stressed enough, in my opinion. Who anointed this jackass pope of the trisate area?

I really don't give a fuck one way or another about the Taylor thing but for the fact that I think his play has declined, but if we sign him I'm rooting for him. Its not like all these guys are from NY anyway. I've never really liked or respected the Ravens, thinking as I do they were and are a bunch of overrated loudmouths, but I seemed to manage just fine last season.

I'm thinking this may just be the most controversial signing in Jets history.

I agree. Strange reason to hate the trade, though, if the biggest negative impact is that a bunch of blokes paid to fill the web with football talk come up with some right old crap then you've got to reckon it's a pretty good idea.

If JT gets us a Super Bowl win, I could give a crap what he has both said and done to us Fans. 42 Damn years of waiting and we are getting more close to winning it all, at least Talent wise then we have been in years. So the guys an a-hole! Who cares! It is worth the price of admission to see him slam Brady around this year! Yesh, I have bleed Green for years, but its not like having to have the guy live at your house or date your sister or anything!

Bryan Cox never went out of his way to tell an entire fanbase that they suck more than once.

Taylor doesn't like Jets fans. I don't see why we should like him because he wears the green jersey.

He has to play perfect for me to not boo him. i'll never cheer for the gay xerxes cocksucker. His dog's name is "bear".... does that not scream GAY.

    Fixed your post.

Taylor is a situational depth faggot. He won't "get us" anything

yeah he was a real run stuffer.

he is a HUGE pass rusher at this point. there were 31 guys with as many sacks as taylor last year. including monsters like tully banta-cain and aaron schobel. dont forget darnell dockett and trevor scott... oh and calvin pace.

i see no reason to bring this guy in with his diminishing skills, his lack of being very good at ANYTHING, his complete inadequacy at playing the run.

this is all beyond the fact of him being a douche. but i guess some of us jets fans would sell our soul for almost anything, surely nothing promised.

like i say in jetsland everyone hates a guy until he is a jet, then they love him cause he is new only to be hated 2-3 years later because he isnt new anymore.

How many sacks did Bryan Thomas and Vernon Gholston have last season?

Darnell Dockett is one of the best defensive tackles in the league.

You know absolutely nothing about this game.

stuffing the run won't be his responsibility.

    Gholston is our backup OLB.

I think plenty of people will continue to hate him. Nobody likes Drew Coleman - now times that by a million - that's Jason Taylor.

    It's not the same.

Drew Coleman is hated because he sucks.

Jason Taylor talked some trash about a division rival and its fans and people are bent out of shape...I don't give a damn what Taylor said, he's a good pick up that still has plenty of value.

Jason Taylor will be a situational player that has a chance to kill drives by getting sacks and forcing fumbles.

It's hard to say whether Taylor has enough gas left in the tank to get the job done in another defense. This is the unknown. Put another way, if he can't get it done while surrounded by our talented players, then we'll have our answer. If he can get it done, then it was a good move.

Either way, going from dancing with the fagalas to wearing a SB ring is okay with me providing he does it wearing green, even though I can't and will never be able to stand his guts.
