If Jets sign Taylor and can get something for Gholston in a trade, what's fair value?

Maybe some people think a burning bag of dog shit is fair....but in reality, what do you think is legitimate value, and do you think any other team will touch him?

I think there is a trade market for the guy, but I think a 5th or 6th rounder is the best we'd get because of his contract and suckiness.

No one's going to pay that rediculous contract besides maybe Al Davis. Unfortunately, he doesn't need a defensive end.

I think us giving up a 5th or 6th to some team so they'd take Gladys off our hands would be fair.

I could see a 4-3 team giving us a conditional based on performance.

But seriously, I wouldn't trade him for anything less than a 3rd, he's still got enough potential that I would rather have him than a late round pick.

I think MC nailed it. A team could conceivably bite if they felt he could better succeed in the 4-3. It would be a conditional pick, likely a 5th to a 4th.

As far as the contract issue, the numbers for a team inheriting the contract wouldn't be ridiculous. Remember, a significant portion of his money has already been paid, both in his initial signing bonus and that pro-rated new bonus he was given last year.

He earns $1.9 million, $2 million, and $2 million in new money over the next 3 seasons, and that's all a new team would be accountable for. There are no future roster bonuses, and as far as I know, no new incentives. I get that's still high for his production, but it's low enough that a team could conceivably take a chance on him. Still, I doubt it.

Somebody from their practice squad that turns into a conditional 7th if Gholston tops 8 tackles? Sad but.., I'm serious though.

    Jason Taylor is almost 36.

We arent signing him to "replace" Gholston.

So I dont see what signing Taylor has to do with trading the Ghost

We actually would have to pay a team to take him, and let them kick Woody in the balls as well, to get rid of that bitch.

So you can trade a ghost? That's a news to me.

P.S. Let's see. Maybe, just maybe, steaming pile of horse shit? Well. Steaming pile of horse shit can be used as fertilizer. Ghost? He is absolutely useless...

So many things I want to say but I'll refrain. I've already got one warning in my short tenure.

The discussion on NFL Network was along the lines that the signing of Taylor could mean the end of the road for Gholston. They seemed to know that Rex Ryan didn't have him too high on the draft board in his draft year. So who knows, maybe they are ready to cut him.
