Not a problem man, I wasn't clear enough either. Anyways, it certainly would take us time to adjust but like I said earlier,
^Bullshit it will be forgotten. He can run back a pick for a TD to win the Super Bowl for the Jets and I will still be counting down the days until his contract expires so I can enjoy the team again.
If we sign him, he becomes a Jet. I will not go against a Jet no matter who he is. He would be out there busting his ass to make a play for us and we would be counting days? The guy has been a Dolphin for his entire career minus one year. Do you expect him to show love to the Jets and the Jets fanbase whilst a Dolphin? I don't. I don't blame him. Just as we hate the Dolphags, they hate us. If the Bill Parcells comes over to me and says I want you to be a vital part of my D when no one is willing to take me, I would go there. Its all business in the NFL. Just like Favre moved out of Green Bay and Namath moved on from the Jets, there are things that you must do to keep your paycheck coming your way.
Jason Taylor will never be a Jet, just someone wearing the uniform. I won't root against him producing for the Jets (if they sign him) but I sure as Hell won't embrace him.
I keep on going back and forth in my mind as to if this would bother me or not. And at the end of the day, he still has the potential to give this team another pass rusher off the edge and that is huge. I can get used to laughing at the Xerxes look-a-like 16 weeks a year.
I understand your point but this guy went WAY out of his way to disrespect us. I mean he beat up a Jets fan on a golf course lol. The things that came out of his mouth about us were going to far. I can understand if he said something like I hate the Jets and they hate us, I love beating them, bla bla bla. But he went over board and showed his pure hatred for us, which is perfectly fine with me I like when rivals hate eachother. But don't think just because you put on green and white all is forgotten.
Good thing nobody in their right mind would sift through 40 pages of garbage to find out something I can just by asking
Very well, actually. If Taylor does sign with the Jets, I am willing to bury my hatchet and move on - provided he performs. What I realized is that, if Taylor does decide to come to NY, that is pretty much equivalent to burning his last bridge back to Miami. All those fans that were behind him will now want his head - I won't allow my soldier to get to the battlefield with his tail between his legs, no matter the circumstances. P.S. But until that happens, Gayson Taylor can go fuck himself.
If he performs, sign him. I really don't care about his comments or his history. If he makes the New York Jets better, bless him.
I could careless about the fact that he played for Miami. I do care that he will be 36 years old. I don't get signing guys that don't really have anything left in their tank. I didn't like the ladainian tomlinson (though I will support him) signing won't like this signing. Hope it doesn't happen.Tannenbaum and Rex are making me a little nervous. Ha! Just an opinion.
From a strictly football perspective, not anything about personal feelings...Signing Taylor to a 1.5 million dollar contract would NOT prohibit the jets from taking a pass rusher in the draft. If there is someone available that Rex likes and can help the defense get to the qb, you better believe they'll draft him. If they don't have the opportunity to draft a OLB they like, then what is the harm of adding a guy who had 7 sacks last year and seeing if he has enough in the tank for another year.
It's not an easy pill to swallow, but if it improves our D, I'd be happy, even if he is a massive dick hole.
I agree; however, I live in south Florida. And if we win a championship with him, I would have to buy a jersey and just wear it around town every f***ing day. It would make the Dolphin fans unbelievably miserable.
