I'm amazed the front office doesn't get the seriousness of the situation here. I can think of no single player, basically ever, that has talked more shit about the Jets. I mean, we hate Miami players in general, but this guy has said some pretty NASTY things about our team, our fans, our everything. As I review this thread, all of his garbage is on here. How any fan who goes to game could cheer for this guy is beyond comprehension.

I wonder if he signs will they force him to issue an apology to the fans, our city, and the team. I'd humiliate him if I was Rex.

wtf? So now in addition to not being able to post a thread even if it was covered 7 years ago, someone cannot post an opinion in the thread of a specific topic if the opinion has already been covered? Who are you again?

i'm just gonna throw this out on the table......but maybe........JUST...MAYBE....Rex could use Taylor's pass rushing ability to improve the defense.

I don't want his help. He's a peice of shit. Not to mention, If Miami is letting him go to the JETS he is shot, trust me. And it shows he has no loyalty or moral fiber to begin with, betraying his beloved Dolphins and signing with the team "he'd never play for". His words.

    Screw that guy, he's junk.

We don't have to LOVE JT. At all. Are you serious?

Two, he still looks back on his Dolphins years. Seriously. The guy is their best defensive player of all time.

Whats up man? Good to see you back. He was good years ago,but i can't picture him in Green and White. I can't imagine he wants to be a Jet either. If he didn't play well,he might not make it out of the parking lot lol

after you work out the emotions take a step back and look at it from a football only perspective. your sentiment has been echoed throughout this thread, your sentiment has also been shown to be overly emotional with no concept of the big picture involved.

i understand how much you hate the guy but the fact is rex believes he can help the defense go to the next level and i believe rex knows what he is doing.

it just can't end well. it makes no sense. if he shits the bed, it will destroy the chemistry because he will get heckled. if he does well, all that will happen is grudging acceptance. its just insanity.

Hey Miz, I was about as pissed off as you are yesterday when I heard it. I bitched my ass off to my girl for a few hours about what a shit Taylor has been to Jets fans in particular.

    I slept on it.

I thought about what a shit pass rush we have when we aren't sending 5 or more men at the QB.

I thought about the sick number of turnovers we'd surely get if we had a solid 4 man rush on 3rd downs.

I thought about the flexibility it would give the FO in the draft by having a rotating pass rusher like Taylor on the roster, and how many spots we'd have to trade up to actually land one of the pass rushers in round one that will actually make a difference this year.

I thought about how it tore a piece of my heart out to watch guys like Toast Smith and Bryan Cox win a Super Bowl wearing Patriots uniform in 2001.

I thought about how much worse it would make Dolphin fans feel to watch Taylor win one in a Jets uniform.

I'll probably puke the first time I see him in a Jets jersey, if it happens. But if our defense gets an added killer dimension by bringing in this bald cunt Jason Taylor... I'd probably learn to live with it.

Im concerned that Rex has no concept of the depth of the hatred to be honest. Hes new around these parts. I dont think he gets it. Do you think rex would rethink this decision if he read this thread? How he proclaims to be "all about the fans"? I can't get fired up FOR jason taylor. it will never happen. And it will be plastered all over HBO and become a distraction. Just watch.

    I'm dreading it.

I didn't say don't post your opinion or anything remotely as close to it. I just simply meant to say a lot of the people hated seeing us even considering him being a Jet. But some of us realized its part of the business and if it helps the team get better, we'll accept it.

The ship has already left the dock. It doesn't matter what happens now. Jets FO has considered signing him and they will be bashed. The only solution would be to sign and he proves his worth to us.

ukilledkenny and MBGreen put as good as it could get in their previous posts.

I have the convenience of being a displaced fan. I haven't been to a Jets-Dolphins game since the Monday Night Miracle, so I haven't lived through the in-person hatred of Jason Taylor for a while. And being a displaced fan, I have the luxury of thinking about it in a pure football sense. Take away the boos and taunting and the shit-talk in the press, and you have a guy with a nose for the offensive backfield.

I've said it a couple of times in this thread - if you give me a choice, I choose to draft a pass rusher 6 days and twice on Sunday. But if the Jets convince this turd to come on board, he'll be part of a ferocious defense wearing the green and white, and that means more to me than any half-assed mockery that this guy is capable of.

A 2 ton boulder is a better option than Gholston. Lineman would have a terrible problem pushing it back and the team could use it as a strength-building/team-building exercise. Plus, it didn't play for the Dolphins! Let's sign it!

Would you take him if we decided to replace Gholston with him? I would.

Once (or if) he becomes a Jet, gets a couple of sacks against Dolphags, does the chest bumps with Pace/Scott/Harris, all will be forgotten.

I don't think its just a matter of being better than Gholston. Its a matter of being better than Gholston beyond his imagination. Sure, he probably has just one more yr left, but that one year at age 35 would still be better than probably any year Gholston remains on this team.

Holy shit, imagine the fire that this would light under 99% of players in the league if their team was trying so hard to sign a guy that outwardly hates them?

As long as they're not named Vernon it would be a HUGE slap in the face. He's probably out at Carvel right now trying to figure out a way to have a Dolphin converted into Fudgie The Whale to welcome JT aboard...

Sorry,i misread. I guess anything is an improv over Gholston. Would certainly be tough to look at for a while though
