Why are you people defending this asshole it is beyond me are the fans innocent nope but are all fans guilty nope I never did anything to him but after reading his comments against all of the fans and the team he can fuck himself. Have you lived in south florida and wore a jet shirt people who comments like taylor make life fucking hard down here on jet fans. So he can go fuck himself the minute I make life hard on him he can say the same freely. You get cursed at and spit going to the freaking market and your feelings will change fast.
it sounds like you have a problem with the fans of the dolphins not JT. did JT spit on you at the market? even if JT never even came in the nfl......dolphin fans would not like jets fans
Because it's something to talk about and also it makes you mad and type paragraphs without periods or anytype ofgrammar at all amd makes them pretty much illegible and easy to skipover
pulled from SNY.TV Jets fans, you don't want Jason Taylor, do you? No, I didn't think so. And it's an understandable reaction. After all, this is a guy who not only has played for the Dolphins but who, at various turns over the past few years, has mocked your chants, denigrated Fireman Ed and been quoted as saying that "some Jets fans take the c-l out of 'class.'" He's made it clear at every turn that he has no use for the Jets or New York or any of us, and so sure, it's easy to see why his visit to the Jets this week isn't giving Gang Green fans the warmest or fuzziest of feelings. But I submit to you, Jets fans, that this is not a time in your franchise's history for holding old grudges or getting bogged down in what's come before. The people running the Jets have made it clear that their mission is to get rid of the old labels and clichés that have come to define the Jets and Jets fandom, and the first year under Rex Ryan was a refreshing example that it's as possible as they say it is. So while the fan in you would love to call the Jets' offices and scream at them to send Taylor and his dancing (with the stars) shoes back to Miami on the next Spirit Airlines flight out of town, the better course of action is to take a deep breath, remember what year it is and trust Ryan that he knows what he's doing. Taylor is certainly not what he once was as a football player. He's 35 years old and can do very little right now on the field other than take a straight and fierce line to the quarterback and knock him down. If you need him for more than that, he's a bad signing. But it just so happens that the Jets need him for nothing more than that. Ryan has determined that the glaring weakness on his defense remains an edge pass rusher who can get to a quarterback without Ryan having to call a blitz on every single play. Teaming Antonio Cromartie with Darrelle Revis in the secondary will allow Ryan to blitz as much as he wants to because he can be sure the receivers are covered. Adding somebody whose only job is to pass-rush would help Ryan construct his blitzes. It would at least put the possibility of a pass rush in an opponent's head on the rare occasions when he'd rather not bring a safety or a linebacker or a corner on a blitz. We only have the one year to go on so far, but if there's anybody out there who still doubts that Ryan knows what he's doing on defense, they weren't watching very closely this year. This is a team that lost its Pro Bowl nose tackle in the first half of the season and still led the league in total defense by an average of 30 yards per game. That's good coaching. And if Ryan thinks Taylor is what he needs to make the defense function at its best in 2010, the fans need to give him the benefit of the doubt. Nobody's asking you to invite Jason Taylor to dinner. Nobody's asking you to shake his hand. But if he really is what the Jets want -- and if he's not just in town to scare the Dolphins into giving him another year -- then Jets fans should trust in the new, motivated, competent team management and welcome a move the management thinks will make the team better.
taylor has never done anything to me but that has never stopped me from calling him a faggot every time the jets play the phins. once again as a fanbase we have given taylor his fair share of grief and he has given us some back. your taking his statements about the fans in general way to personally. basically your deflecting your hate for dolphins fans and your own unfortunate geographic location onto taylor. just for the record i don't believe i have defended anything taylor has done but i'm not gonna get holier than thou attitude about this when i'm fairly confident i would have done and said similar things if i was in the same position.
Hey guys who hate JTaylor. Think of it this way. We are giving him a shitty amount of money to be our slave. Also look it'll piss off Dolphin fans. The Jets have the 2nd greatest Dolphin on their roster. I love the sound of that. and to flajetfanson: Florida blows dick. Punch those Dolfags in the fucking mouth.
Bryan Thomas roster spot is safe Outside linebacker Bryan Thomas’ roster spot is safe regardless of whether the Jets land free agent Jason Taylor, according to a person familiar with the situation. The person requested anonymity because Taylor hasn’t signed with the Jets. Translation: The Jets won't trade or release Thomas no matter what Taylor decides. Taylor, a six-time Pro Bowler, was given the red-carpet treatment today in Phase 2 of Rex Ryan and Mike Tannenbaum’s attempt to woo the 13-year veteran to help the Jets’ pedestrian pass rush. Thomas – who signed a five-year, $25 million extension through 2011 -- won’t be traded or released, according to the person. Taylor briefly met with some players during the morning weightlifting session at the team’s Florham Park training facility. The NFL active leader in sacks would complement outside linebacker Calvin Pace, who led the team with eight sacks (in 12 games) last season. Although Thomas only had two sacks last year, he played an integral part filling in for Pace, who was suspended for the first four games of last season, when Vernon Gholston underachieved. Defensive coordinator Mike Pettine, who called Thomas “an unsung hero for the first quarter of our season” in October for his versatility in dropping into pass coverage and rushing the quiarterback, told the veteran that the team would likely pursue “a good pass rusher on third downs.” “I know that my productivity as far as getting sacks wasn’t there,” Thomas said during Thursday’s voluntary offseason workouts. “But a lot of times, (rushing the passer) is not (responsible for) doing much of the time.” Thomas repeatedly said he no qualms about the team’s decision to woo Taylor. “If that’s something that they’re doing to improve the team, I’m all for it,” Thomas said. “I’m not going to hate on it… I’m going to work hard no matter what. I’m not going to be discouraged. They bring in people every year.” http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2010/04/outside_linebacker_bryan_thoma.html
Trust me, my girl saw this on ESPN last night and told me about it, and I spent a good 3 hours cursing him and telling her what a piece of trash he is. But after I got that out of my system, I thought about it from the football side of things and had to admit to myself that I understood what Rex is trying to do. If the Jets sign him, no matter how much I argue the objective side of things in this thread, I will not be able to suppress my gag reflex the first time I see him in a Jets uniform.
that is the most important thing for the haters of this move to understand. everyone who has been a fan of this team has some level of hatred for this guy. only the guys who are good at what they do get this much hate from a fanbase. once the emotion involved in this signing is removed or at least suppressed it is pretty easy to see why the jets would make this move. from a football perspective i don't see much reason to be hating on this move. the personal side of it is totally different and everyone will have to deal with that on their own.
Miami fans are gonna hate this move a LOT more than the Jets. This would be like Revis getting signed by the pats (in like 10 years) and then taking them to a superbowl. I think the people who truly hate this move should just remember that this is going to hurt Miami fans a helluva lot more than its gonna hurt Jet fans.
good post... I"m starting to warm up to the rationale behind the Taylor interest.....at first, I wanted to kill innocent people after hearing about this....but i have trusted Rex/Tanny up until now...there's no reason to change that approach.
No doubting, he DID have talent, but I'm not so sure that he still has it. He was playing with His last season, and still looked a shadow of his former self. The hate doesn't come from him being a good player. Emotion aside, I still think we can do better come the draft.
No, we're not, but there's a certain level of behavior that typically accompanies high salaried positions. There's more to the term "professional" than the getting paid part. Taunting like that is reserved for guys who typically aren't the face of your franchise. Who's the fan? Some schmuck who is paying way too much for tickets to pay Jason Taylor's salary and worked hard all week to do it, who's at the game letting off steam. That's why I think this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. The fan has a responsibility, yes, but the onus is on Taylor. But that's really irrelevant. Jason Taylor is not the Jason Taylor who sucked for so many years against us in the big spot. He's a guy who sucks even more! It's not hard to see that, which is what's so mind numbing about this whole thing. He had 7 sacks, 3 against a woeful Buffalo team and only 1.5 after week 7. I would much rather roll the dice on someone with more motivation or forward going potential than someone who has no regard for the fanbase. -X-
JT will cause a lot of grief to both fan bases, which should negate the affect IMO. If he plays decent, we'll forget about it, but Phins will be deeply sorry.
