At first I was willing to accept talent that can make the team better. But now I've read everything, including finsheavan, and I don't want this dude. He's a whiney bitch, he embarassed himself on that awful show dwts, and he curses the fans. I hates Keyshawn and his gmme the damn ball crap, and I was glad to see him go. This guy is far worse, and he should be shown a video of the jets kicking his ass anywhere he plays instead of his highlights, and they should lck him out of the buildng and make him call a cab

What I do not get is these fans saying as a football fan I want him on our team. Yeah I want a 36 yr old brittle performing 1/2 a season player on my team. Nope there are better options.
I am also shocked at how some fans are saying if he got 6+ plus sacks for us tunes would change, no they would not I would hate him and root he breaks his freaking neck every play out there so at least insurance would pay his salary.
I really do hope he rots in hell go retire rather then play here if you preach hate like he did that is all he deserves in return.
It looks like the coaching staff is really trying but stop reaching for players past their prime. If he got 6 sacks it would be a step back for everyone else on the team

The simple fact is taylor is no garuntee of a super bowl appearance in fact he no garuntee of making the playoffs. I would much rather trade for the dude for the redskins and pikc and outside linebacker in the draft. With our defensive backfield and an improved d line average linebackers will as good as taylor. He played a full season and got how many sack 8 or nine Pace missed 4 games and got 8 In a full season pace should surpass Taylor and he does not bad mouth the fans or the team.
Fuk taylor I hope he rots in hell

OK I hate this guy as much as everyone else, and I would rather he not play for the jets but if Rex feels like he will help his D then I can't be too upset if it happens. I have full faith in Rex and his plans. Personally I don't think he'll be here but instead he'll be in NE and is using the Jets at a way to increase his pay day

See the thing is if he does sign in New England Thomas may come free who would be more valuable in this defense a one dimensional player or Thomas whose best years were playing in this defense. Sorry let taylor go to NE Because if your hated Keyshawn and you hate Chad you'll really hate this guy because at least those other players were able to back it it up. But the thing is I don't think any other team really wants him. for the same reason there are other better options. I'll ask again if he so good why hasn't Parcells offered him a contract or called him?

I hate Taylor as much as anyone else here, but no 1 player is a guarantee for a Super Bowl. If we picked up Taylor to play in rotation with Pace and Thomas, he would give us a dimension that we currently do not have on defense - a pure pass rusher.

He would be a stopgap until we most likely drafted one in 2011. And it would give us the freedom to go DE in round one this year. I'd hate seeing him in a Jets uniform, but to say that he wouldn't benefit the defense is being naive or ignorant.

Agreed. I think the dude's a douche, but if he was on the team (and played well) I wouldn't be upset.

See the thing is we can answer that this year with out adding the element. Trade for Haynesworth a 3/4 end and then draft your pass rusher Younger and more stable in this defense you add salary but it is still better then adding taylor who is a derisive element at best and a complete diva at the worst of times. What is goingt o happen when he does not like something is he going to walk away from the team like he did from the redskins?
Fuk taylor I hope he rots in hell.

You need one of these , and one of these ., and I think that about does it. Trade for Haynesworth has a mighty good ring to it. What is the over/under on that thread being started?

I know the football arguments....and I agree, but this guy just does not belong in a Jets uniform. Aside from that, there is nothing he can do for us that we can't get done via another route.

I have been a loyal Jets fan for 30 years. I just can't get behind this....

What makes you sure the Skins will tarde Haynesworth? They've invested 42 million in just one year to this guy. Just because Crypt Keeper speculates doesn't mean it's happening.

The guy is at the end of his career, if he walks away he knows it's over which means he doesn't win a ring. You guys need to realize the Jets make moves to win football games, not to keep your feelings from being hurt.

Don't get me wrong, I think Jason Taylor is a douchebag, but it's not like I have to hang out with the guy. We're using him for his ability to pass rush, so what's wrong with that?

I want Tanny and Rex to make moves for this team based on a player's ability, not whether or not their popular amongst fans.

New England has the freedom to hold onto A. Thomas until after the draft, and they probably will. We need a pass rushing OLB, and if we don't get one as a free agent before the draft, then we'll be drafting one.

And that's what I'd rather do, honestly, draft a young QB killer to rush the edge. But if Rex wants Taylor, I'll have a hard time telling him he's wrong.

Well Rich between the crypt keeper and other sources including the washinton post and nbc speculating that he is up for offers http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/06/haynesworth-trade-talk-continues-to-heat-up/ and other reports stating he is not from espn http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2010/04/espn_albert_haynesworth_wont_b.html . I personally would have made a run at alex brown but he is now a Saint. Bottom line I don't want any part of Taylor he is everything anti Jet there is and I backed this staff and team for over 30 years but at a certain point enough of the if we do this get that, I do not want to count on a diva that will not play more then 1/2 the yr at any level. Just the assumption that this scumbag takes part in any of the Jets success makes me ill and I will not support him EVER. There have been players on this team I have disliked over the years but never one to this extent because none of the players have never bad mouthed the fans, the team and the city like this piece of refuse has.
My line is this Taylor hs not won anything ever when is on the wrong side of 36, did not produce the last 1/2 of last year The first 1/2 of the season what indication is there that he will help us here.
If he is so good why has Parcells not reached out to him at all and he is phin property and I would trust Parcells judge of talent. I th nk we should steer clear and find improvement in other ways. There are other options and I would rather play Gholston every play and resign Roberson as a 3/4 end then pay this piece of crap.

Well then Tommy sorry we differ, I like players I can root for and everything they have done til now was get those type of players this move goes against that grain.
And I really think everyone here is over estimating his ability to get to the qb look at the last years stats and how many sacks did he get in the last 1/2 of the season 1.5 that is eally going to help us in the stretch run for a super bowl a player who disappear we already have 1 of them who does it better he never shows up.

Agreed, I'd rather the Jets draft a beast of a pass rusher who will be in Jets green for the next 10+ years than someone in their mid 30s who will be here for maybe a couple of years.

Yeah I saw that. Fine line where the UFA stands with the team is all. Is he on the roster or not is what it boils down to I guess. Man your a patient one.
