I suppose, yes. I don't know, I just don't really see it as THAT much of an upgrade. An upgrade? Yes. But nothing phenomenal.

That being said, I DO fucking hate Jason Taylor and I can never see myself supporting him, but if he comes in and makes a difference I will have no problems.

Yes. Gholston and Thomas accumulated a total of 2 sacks last season. Jason Taylor is one guy and had 7. Even if Taylor manages half the sacks he had last season, he'd still be an upgrade.

I see Taylor's decline continuing. He'll be no better than BT next year IMO.

    Anybody is better than Gholston.

Does the trade HAVE to be phenomenal in order for it to happen? I mean, the only downside here is 80% of Jets fans are going to be crying for the rest of the offseason about how the team "betrayed" their fans. Grow up, people.

I don't see it as betrayal. The coach and front office are making moves to help us win football games. That's serving the fans if you ask me. Boo hoo he said some bad things about us, yea I hate him, but if he helps us win football game I'll get over it real quick.

Yea the same people will be crying if he goes to NE and beats the shit out of us.

On a funnier note....some jackoffs on finheaven think its impossible that it could happen and that the Fins sent him up here on a mission to "spy". LOL...they're stupid shit but they're entertaining stupid shit

If his decline continues to say 5 sacks he will still be an upgrade at 1.25 million against Thomas ridculous contract. As for Gholston I can see him being a TC casualty

    bryan thomas vs jason taylor

    BT 2sacks 2ff 2fr O int 0 TD
    JT 7sacks 3ff 1fr 1 int 1 TD

it doesnt have to be phenominal to be an upgrade. he is better than bryan thomas is passing situations.

if it turns out he regressed and now sucks, then what did we give up??? abs nothing. we still have the same players as last year. wheres the risk?

This is a value bet in poker terms. I mean, this opportunity comes because our kicker took off. He is equal to the kicker in terms of cost which is not a bad deal under the terms without the cap. This is on par to what the Patriots did when they picked up Jr. Seau.

Nothing new in this link except this part I hadn't seen before.

How are they going to offer him $3 mil a year and why would they do it?

Unless it is a typo and it is a 2 year/$3 mil since we didn't lose a free agent that signed a contract for $3 mil 1st year.

Unless we are figuring the final 4 rule wrong.

The Jets WOULD have to make a deal with the devil to win a Super Bowl.

I think we could give him 1.5 in salary and 1.5 in bonus...not sure though

There was a specific rule regarding the amount a team could give in bonus money in relation to the contract but I dont know what it is. Some of the other guys on here know that shit cold...hopefully someone chimes in.

    There is your free agent:

Feely's contract with the Cardinals is worth $3.5 million, including a $500,000 roster bonus and a $1 million salary this year. In 2011, he is due to make $1.75 million with a $250,000 bonus for attending off-season workouts.
