So many believe the Jets are going to trade down. I wanted to do a Jet's mock with the Jets trading out of Round 1.

The Jets trade out of Round 1 with Kansas City. There is a 100 point difference on the value chart which fits perfectly for the Jets to get KC's 4th Rounder #104.

    Jets Receive: KC's #36 in Rd 2 & #104 in Rd 4

KC Receive: Jets #29 in Rd 1.

Rd 2 #36 (From KC)..Nate Allen, S, South Florida......A lot of scouts have Allen rated higher than Mays. A slight reach in Rd 1, if the Jets could swing this trade with KC...a perfect scenario. Jet's secondary just got much stronger.

Rd 2..........................Koa Misi, OLB, Utah............I always liked Misi's motor and the Senior Bowl convinced me he's a player. Excellent work ethic, great person and loves football. Should be a strong consideration for the Jets in late Rd 2.

Rd 4 #104 (from KC).Kyle Calloway, OT, Iowa.....Excellent RT prospect to groom a year or two behind Woody. Solid depth. Could go sooner, but depth of draft pushed him down.

Rd 4..........................Blair White, WR, Michigan St.....Great candidate for our 3 rd WR in the slot. Solid player that could be that safety value for Sanchez. Makes tough catches and moves the chains. I just don't see the Jets drafting a WR high with Edwards (3 & 5) and Cotchery. Next year's draft we can look at a possibly #1 WR...if Edwards doesn't produce in 2010.

Rd 5..........................Corey Peters, DE, Kentucky......I've heard rumors the Jets like Peters and could be a solid DE to get into the rotation. Not super productive #s, a solid player with a good work ethic, that looks to be an excellent fit in Rex's system.

Rd 6..........................Jamar Wall, CB, Texas..........injuries have held Wall back...couldn't run this spring. Depth at the CB position.

Rd 7..........................Michael Smith, RB, Arkansas......Leon's future is cloudy. Smith could be a nice option...good receiver out of the backfield. Only 5'9" 185 LBs...but plays very tough. Very fast elusive RB. Possible KR returner.

    Comments appreciated.

I like the idea of trading back and like Allen too.

I do not believe we will take an OLB early in this draft for two reasons. We have a lot invested in the position already and more importantly Ryan has a history of finding LBs late in the draft or UFA's.

I know its late but Wall is not our type of CB. He's more of a cover two guy IMO.

I disagree, the Jets need to add another rush/olb in this draft and Misi would be a good value in the bottom of Round 2. Gholston is part of the huge part of the money invested at OLB....but his days are numbered, especially with an uncapped year approaching.

Wall has had leg injury issues. Wall has made a name for himself in being a ballhawk and has decent speed. Texas Tech's defense isn't great, Wall was a bright spot. I would never consider Wall to be a starter, but could provide solid depth.

I love the idea of this trade and I like the first two picks. Haven't seen vids on any of the others, so I can't really comment on them.

Who is KC trading up to get?

I have a strong feeling Jim Clausen could still be on the board at 29. It has nothing to do with his value; I think he's a tremendous talent. But with a lot of the teams in the top half of the draft securing their quarterback positions via trade, he might be in for a Quinn/Rodgers freefall.

His floor would be the 30th pick, the Vikings. That would make us the prime trading partners in such a scenario.

I'd instantly make that trade down and would be THRILLED with Nate Allen. Personally, I don't see him as a reach at all at 29.. I think it'd be a very solid value. But why does KC want to trade up?

I like our draft too, but Misi worries me a bit...

I think we should go for a smaller, faster receiver.. White doesn't seem like that slot guy...

But in all I'd be satisfied with this draft

I'm predicting Okung goes to Washington and KC addresses OT with the Jet's 29th pick....maybe Campbell or Brown.

Clausen isn't going to fall to the 30th pick. I'm expecting a good pro-day fron JC this Friday.

This draft is too deep at Safety to take one that ealry. I love the players and picks but would rather had a DE early and Safety later in the second round. DE is our biggest need and biggest hole in the D we need a big and physical guy to create pressure on our QB so that Cro and Revis can make consistent plays on the ball.

Tell me who is the DE you're drafting In RD 1 or RD 2 at #36????

Don't say Odrick...he's going to be gone

There is no Value at 3-4 DE after Odrick that early,...please try again.

Don't like NOT getting a DT/NT because we are banking on a aging Jenkins to play like a beast when the injury he took could take a shot on his play. God bless both DeVito and Pouha but we need a guy in the middle or else we are going to get hurt by RBs and the rush attack. Thinking Jenkins will return to his oldself at the age he is at is unfair to him(Turns 31 in August). He is overweight pretty much and he is injury prone despite being a madman as far as DT/NT play go.

Also would like to address DE a bit early, especially over OT which isn't a DIRE need as early as round 3. I know Woody isn't anything to write home about and depth is important but none of the 5 guys really should get benched right away.

Outside of that, I like it though WW85. You have good and backing enough insight to see where you are going at.

    Appreciate the Comments.

DE is a tough spot for the Jets....Odrick will be long gone.

I wanted a DE early.....but the availability isn't happening, unless you want to draft Dunlap or Alualu early at #36.

Carrington could be a possibility in late Rd 2.

A player like Cam Thomas could be a posibility at #36, his stock is rising, and can play inside and move outside as well.

I had Calloway going in rd 4....no Rd 3 pick.

I see what your saying here but IMO Odrick could possibly be there at 36 if the Pats take a WR and Ravens take a CB. But if he's not there as you are saying which is a possibility I'd go with a guy like Alualu, Cam Thomas, or call me crazy but even Dunlap, big DE's that under Rex could cause extreme pressure on the Oline.

Odrick will be a Top 15 pick, his stock is soaring. Big 3-4 DE's are a rare find in the NFL...look at Tyson Jackson last year.

I may not agree that Odrick is worth his value on draft day, but that's just the way it is.

With Dan Williams stock rising even further then Odrick after the Giants at 15 I don't see many teams picking him up. 1-15 is stacked and many won't pick Odrick that Early in my opinion soo the possibility of him falling to us at 29 or 36 is a bigger possibily then you are predicting.

The Browns are really looking at Odrick.

Check back with me in a little over two weeks. I bet Odrick will be drafted alot closer to 15 than 29-36.....I'm sure of it.

Okay WW85 I resepct your opinion and we will both see what happens in the coming weeks. My question for you is what is our answer at DE? I love the Corey Peters pick in the 5th but he wouldn't make an immediate impact at our 34 DE position which we need, so whos there to fill that role? Just curious because this has been a question in my mind with our team.

There is a chance that it doesn't happen this year. In which case next year we would have to draft Von Miller or Cameron Hayward (my personal favorite) in the 1st no ifs ands or buts. I hope that's not the case but if the draft plays out like WW85's mock that's what we're looking at.

This kind of scares me then. We are a win now type of team and we need a young DE now there's too big a hole opposite of Ellis to go into there season expecting to create pressure on the QB.

It's too bad Heyward decided not to enter the draft this year because it would have increased our chances of getting either him or Odrick which would be ideal. With all the talent is this draft there could have been a chance one of them dropped into our lap. Right now Heyward is projected to go mid-first next year but anything can happen. Von Miller is projected to go mid-to-late first so right now assuming the Jets have the type of season we all hope for then we have a better shot at Miller.

You do realize that the 3-4 DE isn't where pressure is ideally created in the 3-4 scheme?
