Let me try and put this nicely...
    um...

YOU GUYS ARE FUKIN NUTZ! ...there .

How can you trade a PROVEN STAR for a UNPROVEN PCIK?
    How?
There is no way to equate it.
We should be trying to make Leon a JET4Life but instead you guys are giving him away....to the DOLLS!!!

    Wow.!!!

    I mean WOW!

They, the Dolphins, wouldn't waste their time with this.

Theoretically though if a team with that high a pick wants him, you have to let him walk.

Yeah, it would be a headscratcher unless they feel they're going to be unable to re-sign Ronnie Brown or that Ricky Williams is getting close to retirement. I can't see the Dolphins doing it, but if they did it would be easy for us to hedge our bets with that 2nd rounder.

Leon is not a proven star. He's a former Pro Bowl Returner and a dynamic player, but he's never been 'a star', and this is coming from someone who called him easily our best offensive player last off season. He's also coming off of an injury, he's opted to rehab away from the team, and he's got a douchebag agent who presents massive headache problems for anyone trying to re-sign him. There are so many factors involved other than simply liking the guy, which most of us do.

EDIT: It's also worth mentioning that the same agent has spent this whole offseason talking about Leon's market with OTHER teams. He's never once indicated a desire on Leon's part to revisit contract talks with the Jets for a long term deal. Every quote has been about potential offer sheets. He's going to make it as difficult as possible for Leon to remain a Jet.

EXACTLY what I thought when I was reading it.

WTF?! This is a bs source. I live 45 mins north of Miami, and listen to sports radio everyday, all day (and i'm in the car alot) I havent heard anything about this.

With all of the contracts we will have up next season I don't see how were going bring Leon back.

It would really hurt seeing Leon in a Dolphins uniform, but I'll take the 2nd.

Tee.....Leon is likely GONE after this season....he'll be a UFA. If we can get something in return for him now...it makes total sense to do that.

Id trade him to Miami in a heart beat.

They arent a serious threat for the division anyway. They have no recievers, QB issues, and a terrible defense.

Not to mention their special teams seems to be rather fine, so Leon gets wasted there.

An early 2nd for a HB thats getting older coming off a serious injury, adios !

To be honest with our defense we shouldn't be worried about the Leon Washingtons of the world I mean seriously. Either that or we have no right to say we are the top ranked defense in the NFL or elite D or crazy band of lunatics bla blaa. Thank you for the 2nd rd pick Miami and have a great day. Enjoy the weather Leon along with David Harris, Bart Scott and Calvin Pace hunting you down like the guy who fucked their wives on sundays.

although playing him twice a year would suck, cuz he would be playing with a lot of motivation. most of you are right get a second at least, instead of letting him walk for free next year. We finally have the luxury of a great team and that gives the Jets the upper hand in all business aspects like this. Sorry Leon, either you want to be a Jet or get the fuck out.

Lets just take a step back for a minute, and think about how this situation has played out for poor Leon who has done nothing but play his heart out for the Jets.

He went from every fan's favorite Jet and was going to be the playmaker the Jets built their offense around, and get a long term contract extension so he could stay in NY until he was at least 30 playing for 5 mil a year....

To now, he's getting a 1 year contract worth under 2 million dollars, a 3rd string back who is now an after thought in Jets' fans minds and isn't even guaranteed where he will be playing when TC opens up in 2 months.

I know it's a business, but you really gotta feel for Leon. Because of 1 play his entire career changed...

    TITCR.

    A 2nd-rounder would be a boon.

I fantasize about getting a 2nd-rounder for Leon, trading down from the 1st round for a 2nd and a 3rd, and having these picks:
    2/2/2/3/4/5/6/7
And drafting: DE/OLB/LG/WR/DT/RB in the 1st 5 rounds, and some CB/S depth in 6/7.

Ahhh, that would be the perfect fantasy.

People would feel bad for him if he didnt have that douchebag agent who had him yelling show me the money.

He obviously made contract decisions so that he could get offered the big bucks from other teams forcing us to pay him.

Now irony sets in and hes going to earn shit compared to what he could of made.

I doubt too many are going to feel bad for a guy who put himself in this position. Plus hes still going to be making millions and getting a ton of action wherever he goes. I mean if he fetches a 2nd rounder that obviously shows that wherever he lands really wanted him

This is 100% my perfect draft. Only way it could get any better is if we nabbed Marshall with a 2nd round pick. (almost a 0% chance of that happening)

I'm going to be disappointed if the Jets don't trade him for at least a 2nd rounder to any team, so if the Fins will bite, Leon can go swim with them.

No, an asshole agent changed Leon's career. If he signed that deal last season he would just be coming off a serious injury and our concern would be how Leon bounces back. Now Leon's stuck, and if someone signs him I would gladly take a 2nd rounder for him.

The fins have a nice early pick.

Plus they have 2 HBs who are both far more talented @ running the ball than Leon.

Im not the slightest bit concerned about a divisional rival giving us a 2nd round pick for the future 3rd string HB and backup kick returner.

I'd have to agree. He really should have taken the money when it was out on the table last year. His agent made a dumbass move by allowing him to play out the season, risking injury and the fact that he would be an RFA in a capless season, instead of taking the sure thing.
