if some team gave up "pocket lint" for Gholston at this point....it would be considered a major fleece by the Jets. don't get your hopes up for a trade.
No team is giving up a draft pick to take over a ridiculous contract for a player that doesn't care about football.
I think we should try and trade him to the Raiders... tell Crazy Al he is a tight end who can run a 3.95 40 time. They would probably give us a 2nd and give the Ghost a new 8 yr deal
i find it slightly comical that some people feel Gholston can still come out of this funk. How stupid is Gholston really? I mean, Rex's system adapts to the players' strengths....look what the change in philosophy did for Eric Smith and Pouha. It revitalized David Harris into a playmaker again. Even Bryan Thomas wasn't invisible last season. What the hell was Gholston doing when all this was going on? He was given every chance to succeed....and failed miserably. He should've thrived in this system. I know he's not a natural 3-4 OLB....but i'm sure his supposed football talent would've shone through somehow...Rex would've found a way to utilize him My litmus test for Gholston was this past season.....and he couldn't even get on the field on his own merit. Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade.....but the writing is on the wall for this kid...and it isn't positive. /rant
^^^ Agree , guy is a walking bust . His pass rush attempts when seen resemble something out of an Abbott and Costello meet the Mummy.
Im still holding out a molecular sized hope for him based solely off of it taking 4 years for Pace to do anything before getting his FA contract from us. then again even though Pace was considered a bust I doubt he was as unimpressive as Gholston. that being said theres no reason to include him in constructive convo's until he does anything other than take a bad angle or completely fail to learn any more techniques to separate off his block.

I'm not giving up hope until Rex does...so back off! The player is developing. I wonder what this world would be like if people would focus on eliminating their own faults and shortcomings instead of taking so much time and pleasure in pointing out these in others.
I understand your point Mrs Gholston, but do you think you could ask your son to at least try and put in the occasional tackle? Just so we see some form of return for the many millions of dollars he's getting each year, you understand.
