Thomas is an interesting pick. People love the fact that he is built like Andre Johson, but is his route running that polished? That's why I worry about... and that foot too. Haden isn't falling. He fixed his 40 time
I could honestly see all of that except for Davis going top ten, Pouncey that high, and Haden falling out of the top ten. The Lions may opt for McCoy because he's more explosive than Suh, and probably has a bit more potential. The Giants are in a similar spot to the Jets, what they really need may not be on the board at 15 (McClain), so they could opt for the BPA and one of a few other positions. Bradshaw is OK, but isn't untouchable. Tebow is a guy the Bills may opt for to get tickets sold, something tells me his style would be a hit in Canada (like reverse Doug Flutie, kind of).
Thomas is basically the WR version of Jason Pierre Paul, both have tremendous athletic ability to go along with great speed and strength. However, both have somewhat cloudy futures. Pierre Paul in that he only played a season at a DI level and Thomas because he played in a triple option. Personally I do not want Thomas, at least not in the first round, while I do think he has all the physical ability, I'm not sold on him as a total package WR Looking through that draft I disagree with a lot of those picks
It's not like he's a running back or a quarterback in that system though. Yeah, he didn't run too many routes at Georgia Tech, but that can easily be taught. Bay Bay has the ability to be an elite receiver in the league, so if he falls that far, we should take him. We'd be able to develop him behind Edwards and Cotchery for a while.
I like Scott Wright, even when he's wrong there tends to be a well thought out reasoning behind his picks. If that's how the board looks when the Jets pick, I'd rather they reach for Mount Cody. But Thomas would be a fine project pick.
Well I guess if you want him and the first and we dont get him then you would want him to fall to us in the second. I can see your reasoning behind taking Thomas and its pretty compelling but considering our situation, I'd prefer the idea of taking someone in the first who is ready to make an significant impact their rookie season, I think Thomas could make an impact but not as much as I would expect from a first round prospect
I'd like to get a guy that can contribute right away too, but we could end up in a very shitty situation at 29. To me, Jared Odrick is the safest pick for us, but he'll be gone. This is how I'm looking at it: we have a first round pick, but it's such a low pick that it's basically a second rounder. It's going to be very hard for us to find an immediate starter with our pick.
Well I guess we will just have to cross our fingers and hope one of the top defensive players falls to us. I also just realized we may have a better shot at getting Earl Thomas than I had initially thought
I've realized that for quite a while. People thought I was being unrealistic with my last mock...it's very possible that he could slip a little bit.

I wouldn't mind Thomas in the slightest if he were BPA. I'd rather take him than Tate, but I wouldn't mind Tate either...again, only if BPA. There are obviously a number of players I'd prefer over both of them. As always, trading back and netting a 3rd is my top choice. Thomas and Alualu would be an excellent first two days, but I'm a bit afraid of Alualu not quite reaching us in the 2nd.
If Earl Thomas falls to 24ish, I think there's a decent chance they trade up yet again to get the guy they want.
