No, I didn't. I don't assume that someone with 10,000 posts knows any more about football than the guy with 5 posts. I made an assumption that anyone with 10,000 posts has wasted a great deal of time, but to each his own. I happen to love football, and this time of year I like spending a little time online having some fun with it. However, I also like spending my time having sex with woman, and actually earning a living by going to work each day. Now, does having 10,000 posts mean that the guy doesn't have a job, or girlfriend, no... but one can assume.
Those are generic white running back criticisms. Gerhart has gone to great lengths to correct the fact that he RAN high early in his career at Stanford, which is why he was so frequently injured. He improved prior to and during last season and has a much better running style now. He's not nearly as stiff or slow as people would like him to be. In fact, any coach in the Pac 10, a conference where speed on defense is frequently emphasized, will tell you that he's a hell of a lot faster than you think. See above. He makes guys miss more often than you would think. As far as pushing the pile, he's better equipped to do so than most backs. He hits the hole hard and quickly, and behind a line like ours with Tony Richardson in front of him, he would be remarkably consistent as any ground and pound back needs to be. You act like we'd be bringing him in as a scatback. No. People said they don't want Jerry Hughes because he CAN'T transition. They make assumptions based on knowledge, but obviously the draft is always a crapshoot. You just happen to have terrible reasons for not liking Gerhart. I doubt you ever saw a single game he played in. I saw every one, and I can tell you that you're way off base, even after discounting your original white running back argument.
I would boo if Graham is drafted by the Jets. Too many Gholston similarities, Big Ten, converting from DE, Big Ten. No steady volume of film to view as a OLB/DE. Stay away from those fast riser like Mike Mamula.
I would boo also if Taylor Mays is drafted by the Jets. He coverage skills are terrible. He has talent and is very fast for a safety but we have other needs. No guards also in the first round. You can find a good one later in the draft.
its amazing how many posts can be amassed during class, before dinner, during HW.... and sometimes - while she sleeps. You are sadly mistaken, and wasting bandwith.
Thread is going in the wrong direction. Too much personal crap. Back on topic guys...or I'll close it.
Craig James(1227 yds in 85) played in SB, John Riggins 83(former NY Jet), Larry Czonka 71 Miami! Mike Alstott(fb but ran the hell out of the ball). NFL just stopped looking for them.
Is this a joke? Tell me some actual football reasons why Graham is like Gholston in anyway, and not just where they came from and what position they play. We would be blessed if Graham fell to us at 29, and we better take him if he was there.
Short arms? Just saying, there are players that I wouldn't be dissapointed that the Jets drafted over Graham. He does have a tremendous motor, though.
McGuffie pretty nice, but I'm sure he was asking about NFL backs. Plenty of good white college backs.
Which value chart are you using? Just wondering because there are a few tables out there that were supposedly being used by NFL teams, which didn't turn out to be the case. But i agree here. I didn't take into account the different circumstances surrounding each trade up. 17 to 5 isn't that bad, especially in a draft with mediocre talent. Trading up from 29 to Suh would be a bad one....
