    We won't let him go

I don't think the FO will let him leave, assuming his rehab is going well. The purpose of 2nd round tender is to test the market, and if someone makes him an offer, it will set a low bar for short-term or long-term negotations.

Obviously if someone offers 4 year, $30 mil contract we won't match it... but a 3 year, $10mm is the most I can see anyone offering, assuming full health. (Look at Mike Bell, TJ, and LT) And I would gladly match that for a healthy LW.

I'd rather have the 2nd rd pick and draft another RB late in the draft.

I love when players get absolutely horrid advice from agents. Second round pick please.

They offered him a more than fair contract last off season, in the 4-4.5 million a year ballpark. Let's not forget.. yes he was a pro bowler. But it was as a kick returner, not a running back. He's not Maurice Jones-Drew. His agent screwed him, not the Jets.

I love Leon, but chances are he won't be around after next season so we should take a 2nd rounder if we can get it. I wouldn't mind signing him to something like a 3-year $10 million contract so we can keep him until he's 30 at a relatively low price.

Yea that's what I was thinking too. I hope he's back, but if not then we'll just need to find ourselves a good kickoff returner. I think we have the RB situation taken care of ok.

Brad Smiths sticking around hes our new Kickoff returner. The RB situation on the other hand is definitely not taken care of

It was the voluntary off season program, not OTAs.

NFL teams don't have OTAs until late May.

Leon should definitely be there, but OTAs are completely different.

Yeah I always mix OTAs up with other stuff too, I'm just surprised no one mentioned it 45+ posts in.

So seemingly we will most likely trade him seeing as Keel's feels the need to show off Leon to other teams.

I would do a sex wee if we somehow managed to replace Washington with Dexter McCluster.

I'm pretty sure Tom Brady is perfectly dedicated to the Pats and he is not at "voluntary" workouts It's pretty hard to stay on a message board and judge the dedication of a player.
We constantly criticize players for not playing well which is fair but criticizing them for missing out on voluntary activities which you are perfectly allowed to do, is pretty unfair

Is it okay for me to call him a retarded son of a bitch? Actually, I wouldn't go that far...but if he still thinks he's worth a Jones-Drew type contract, then something's wrong with his brain.

I definitely haven't been "riding his jock"...never have been, never will be.

Washington's a role player and I see that. On our current roster, Washington is nothing more than a kick returner that will see very limited time on offense. If the Jets can get anything better than a 4th round pick for him, it'll be a heist.

    Yes, it is.

Greene and Tomlinson will hold that position down in 2010, but Ryan is taking a risk by doing that.

If Washington's shipped out, we'll more than likely see an insurance policy selected in the first few rounds of the upcoming draft.

Turk's source is probably Alvin Keels.
