There is also a big difference between bench pressing and blocking a LB but that doesn't mean that having a great bench press isn't a useful factor in assessing a player's strength which is an important component of blocking. Similarly, running a 4.1 40 is a useful factor in assessing a player's speed which is an important component of rushing.
Ahhhh, that's not who it appeared you were talking about. It looked like you were talking about Tomlinson. I was like "I know some people still wanted Jones back, but damn."
BobGlauber RT @ManishMehta1: LaDainian Tomlinson said today that he took less $ to sign with #Jets: "I could have taken more money to go to Minnesota." 12 minutes ago via TweetDeck
yeah...i just read that too. Like i said when the deal became official.....Rex Ryan can sell refrigerators to an eskimo.
That really shocks me. I think if Favre coming back was a certainty, he would have went with Minnesota. I guess playing time and the Big Apple were what really sold him.
Perhaps. Not like Tomlinson is really going to say what Favre said. For all we know Favre could of said I'm not coming back, and LT said oh alright screw Minny than I'll play for these Jet guys.
My thinking is that in Minny AP is the man and in NY we have a rookie that hasn't established himself yet as "the man". LT feels he will have potential for more carries in NY .then he would have seen in Minny.Plus he wouldn't have to share the spotlight with AP. Just a feeling.
I'm sure the chance at more playing time, a team dedicated to running, and a better o-line is what drew him to the Jets (along with knowing the offense).
I am fully impressed with LT. He started the season hot. Ended slowly, but he played a great game at indy, got into the endzone against the Pats, and is going to be huge for blitz pickups and dumpoffs out of the backfield against the Steelers.
