I think MNF isn't the big stage that SNF is, and I think that would be a better spot for Pats-Jets.

Lets face it, MNF takes the Raiders opening weekend most years to get them out of the way.

Maybe. Our first-ever SNF was Week 17 last year when they had no other choice. You'd think an AFC championship game appearance would get us on SNF but maybe not, I'm pretty sure Al Michaels hates us.

bro you are asking jet fans to stop seeing things as a slight. JETS FANS. this is the same fanbase that created gate D and is known league wide as drunken fighters and complainers and haters and just all around assholes.

you have a better chance of obama fixing health care before we jet fans stop taking anything remotely negative as a slight

I wouldnt mind playing the Pats to open up at the new stadium (for us). But losing to them would obviously suck.

I'm just curious what the other high profile game they could play in would be? is he really referring to the possibility of playing Detroilet on Thanksgiving. As much as I'd prefer the Jets to be in that game I'd hardly call that high profile. Obviously Dallas or the night game fit the ball buty against Detroit? Come on....

I don't think the preceived slight is from the NFL, it's the condescension of so many associated with the Patriots, from BB and Kraft on down to the media. Sorry, but talking about how wonderful it was to coach for a team under a certain head coach in a particular stadium across the parking lot from the new one, and then not even mention that you later coached for another team under the same head coach in the same stadium (when that team is also the co-owner of the new stadium) is most certainly deliberate, and it ties into BB's rampant and ongoing paranoia regarding the Jets. If you want Jets fans to move on you should also be telling BB to move on. His idiotic attitude is only magnified by the fact that the Jets treated him as well as anyone could have wanted when they brought him in after his failure in Cleveland, and by his success in New England.

Considering the guy nearly won another SB with the Jets and he was gift wrapped a million bucks from the Jets you'd think he'd be a tad grateful.

Absolutely, or at least less of an asshole. Unfortunately, people are what they are.

Belichik was a Pat's fan when he was a kid. He always disliked the Jets and only came to us because Parcells made him an offer he couldn't refuse when Parcells jumped ship on New England. That and that Kraft didn't immediately offer him the head coaching job when Parcells was walking away.

When I see Belichik in action it takes me back to the days when Don Shula just outright hated the Jets and missed no opportunity to diss them.

If I had to pick a team I'd want the Vikings but honestly it doesn't matter that much to me. I think it's going to be the Pats.

The Dolphins are a better pick. Jets-Dolphins was a great game on MNF last year, and Sanchez-Henne has the potential to be one of the great quarterback rivalries of the next decade. Plus it gives those idiots the opportunity to waste more air time talking about the monday night miracle and other MNF-history type stuff that has little if anything to do with the game thats actually being played.

In a lot of ways, Jets-Dolphins is the real rivalry game, anyway. As far as a national audience is concerned, the Patriots rival in the last decade was the Colts. Jets might take second place, but as far as the public mind is concerned, the mortal enemy of the Jet is the Dolphin.

Plus, it's likely a more winnable game. I don't know how much that really factors in to the decision making process, and I certainly don't want them to go out of their way looking for a pushover, but I think everybody knows losing to the Patriots on week one, monday night, is a terrible way to open a new stadium.

Jets-Dolphins, there is nothing better than MNF against the Fins.

First, no. The post I answered to specifically misread the article and thought the Jets were being called inferior.

Second, I listened to the BB talk that was quoted in the story. He indeed had something to add about his time with the Jets. He said when he was with the Jets it was different from the Giants family feel.

BTW, why do even care what BB says. I don't think he's the one who's had trouble moving on.

we always seem to get the pats early at home. I would like a late season home game against them.
