So far seems like a good move, and LT wil be hugely motivated to prove SD wrong and behind our OL he may get a chance to do that.

I cant lie seeing LT join the jets is exciting...yea he may not be the man anymore but he will fit in perfectly...not only do i think he will be productive, but also will fill the leadership roll TJ left behind!

I think this signing means that Leon isn't coming back.
Basically, it wouldn't suprise me if that the Jets are paying LT to take both TJ and Leon's role in the offense.
LT will take care of short yardage and goal-line for TJ and catches out of the backfield for Leon.
I think Leon is gone with this signing.
My guess is he will be traded - perhaps for a 3rd and low rd pick this year or next --- or maybe packaged to Denver for Marshall if those rumors are true.
I would expect that the Jets will then pick up a back in the mid-rounds in the draft.

Only 4-6 TDs? I would think he can get more than that. Depends how many red zone opportunities he gets though
Don't be surprised if you see it with LT too, just giving you a heads up.

Agreed. Despite the injury last season, you just have to bring Leon back to see how he would fair.

You should be okay with it even if he doesn't. This means a lot to LT - he wants to prove all of the doubters wrong.

LT is a better option on third downs. He's a much better blocker and a more effective receiver.

We'd be losing a third string running back/return specialist for a second rounder.

HATE this move. LT is done. Jim Brown is a big name too maybe we should give him a 2 year contract. Terrible move.

Now hopefully someone is stupid enough to sign Leon and we get a 2nd rounder for him, then replace him later in the draft. Leon Washington must want to KILL his agent because he just lost all leverage with us.

Terrible is too strong a word. Besides he's not running 15 times a game here.

He didn't want to prove doubters wrong the past couple of postseasons? I like LT, he comes acropss as a good guy. I think he can help us but to act like he is all of a sudden motivated to silence critics and he'll be great again I think is a little silly.

C'mon, man. You can write and say "LT"- it's his nickname. "LT2" is not his nickname. It's just some dumb internet shit done by Giants fans and other people who think it is sacrilegious to refer to Tomlinson by his freakin' initials because it is a slap in the face to Lawrence Taylor.

    I don't get that.

We still call Norman Esiason "Boomer", right? Well, guess what. He's not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but somebody else with the nickname "Boomer" is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

How dare we call Esiason "Boomer!"

Also, kindly cease referring to Thomas Jones as "TJ" for he is not the first with that nickname.

    T.J. Rubley forever!

    johhny, your posts s d.

You know absolutely nothing about football.

LT had decent production in 2009, while battling through lingering injuries and playing behind a swiss cheese offensive line.

In a limited role, the guy has a chance to be a very effective player in our system. He offers great value as receiver and pass blocker on third downs.

    fail

Brown retired after the 1965 season. Tomlinson played an actual game two months ago.

If you want to say Tomlinson is washed up and you think he'll put up pedestrian numbers in 2010, just write that.

It's the dumbest argument I have ever heard a Giants fan make.

As for this move, I'm not going to boo it but I'll remain skeptical. It seems to me like the Jets and Chargers had the same reasons to get rid of their 30 year old HBs. Hopefully the change of scenery helps LT. I know the OLine is better at least.

I blame San Diego's post season problems on Norv Turner.

I love how you use the injury excuse for Thomas Jones' mediocrity at the end of the season, but fail to do the same for LT.

LT salary: 2 yrs, $5.2 mil, according to source. Can escate to $5.7 mil. He got slightly more than Thomas Jones from KC.

The biggest thing LT brings to this team IMO is that nose for the endzone. We can give it to him in short yardage/goal line and be confident he'll get the job done. We lost that with TJ, and now we have it back. He'll be fine with the 10 or so carries he gets, people need to understand he's a role player and not a starter.
