Boldin is over 30 and has a high and heavy injury history and has maybe 2 years left, 3-4 assuming he doesnt get hit much.

Cotchery is easily a top 3 # 2 reciever, and is probably a top 20 receiver overall.

Cotchery not even worth a 3rd is complete insanity.

Hes only been a starter for 4 years, and the QBs hes had to work with have been poor to pretty crappy for the most part. And the jets are predominantly a rushing team so its going to be hard for many WRs to get a lot of yards on this team

No, it would mean we gave up Stuckey, Trusnik, a first, and a fifth for a great Superbowl run, Brandon Marshall, and a third.

    Not bad all things considered.

    Worst idea ever.

Don't want to jack the thread about this but Boldin is 30 and at age 32, will be better then Cotchery has ever been. Maybe I went too far with the not even worth a 3rd comment but the guy isn't special. To say he is a top 3 #2 WR is insanity. Boldin and Wes Welker have been superior, Derrick Mason, Donald Driver, TJ whos ur momma have all been better in my opinion and those are off the top of my head. We can debate who is better or not but my mini scouting report of him perfectly describes who he is. He is a good not great WR.

The only reason why I'm iffy on Brandon Marshall is because hes 1 off field incident from a year long suspension and how many big contracts can we possibly hand out. Otherwise this is the NFL and its a business. Its about building championship teams and winning super bowls not keeping fan favorites. If we can somehow make it work financially and feel that BM will be a better person, we get him and don't think twice. After 41+ years of failing I am happy with this Yankee approach. I have seen enough of the Wayne Chrebets of the world and prefer we make more Curtis Martin signings.

Yeah how reliable Boldin is. A guy who has only played a full season 2 years in his career. His numbers are great because hes played on a team with a subpar defense, no running game, and a hall of fame QB. If Cotchery had played on Arizona, the Colts, Pats, a team like that im sure his numbers would be significantly better.

Hes played on a rushing team with poor QBs, how good can you expect his numbers to look.

Cotchery played with Brett Favre where we scored over 400 points and still couldn't score a lot TDs(5) Boldin has played with Jeff Blake, Josh McCown, Matt Leinhart and yes Warner who is a HOF in my opinion also needed great WRs to be great IMO (Giants years?).

Boldin has been good from game one literally lol, 10 catches 217 yards 2 TDs http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=230907008

He is also the fastest WR to 300, 400 and 500 receptions. Now they do air it out a lot but this guy on those terrible Cardinal teams was getting raped and STILL abusing the opposition. He is also WITHOUT A DOUBT the BEST WR after the catch. He punishes people after the catch kinda like the WR version of Brandon Jacobs. 12 games of Boldin is better then 16 games of Cotchery.

If you don't agree with my opinion thats fine, we will just agree to disagree:up:

But back to the subject, again if we can work it out financially and with the understanding he will be a good boy and they want our top 30 WR plus a pick for their top 5 WR who is 3 years younger its a no brainer. Super Bowls>fan favorites, Curtis Martin>Wayne Chrebet. But I don't think its going to happen just that Mr.T as always is doing is due diligence and if he can find a way to rape the Broncos ala the Browns trades, he most certainly will and leave the vaseline at home.

i was never a big boldin fan. to injury prone. and boldins to expensive, theyre better off with a wideout early in the draft.

Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post includes this intriguing thought among his Sunday storylines:

    Brandon Marshall
"I keep hearing from my Jets sources that they're having internal discussions regarding Brandon Marshall and would love to put together a package of players that might entice the Broncos and still keep their first-round pick," writes Lombardi.

Also, ESPN insider is also claiming Jets are talking about this

Hopefully the Jets don't get him, so then this wife beating piece of shit won't ruin my Sundays.

But I guess if he scores touchdowns then it will be good enough for most of you to put his name on your back and overlook the fact that he's been beating on women since college. Sickening. Let cheer on the wifebeater everybody!

    We don't need him.

How can anyone root for Mike Vick, Ray Lewis, Gilbert Arenas, and all other thug life fuck ups. Its all about the results. He gets us 1500 yards receiving and 15TD he can beat me all he wants.

That attitude is part of the problem.

Habitually smacking your woman around is different than promoting dog fights or owning guns. Maybe thats just me.

smacking a woman, killing and torturing dogs, and threatening teammates with gun violence are all around the same level of despicable. your argument only works when you downplay the other incidents.
