well...considering LT brings more to the table skillwise, an excellent work ethic, and he won't be the starter. I think the lockeroom will respond in positive fashion.
I think the guys understand the game is a business. They also know that LT potentially could give them a better offense then TJ so I think they'll get over it.
This is probably better than if we tried to force TJ to be the 2nd/3rd stringer (Leon) after two career years.
i'm sure this was brought up to TJ in some way shape or form....but my gut feeling is he wasn't receptive to the idea of a demotion.....which is why he's wearing a red jersey now.
Bwahahahahahahaha. and here's another:http://www3.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/mar/14/done-deal-lt-headed-jets-chargers/
As much as the players loved Jones they arent going to stop producing because he is gone. As long as Tanny signs their pay checks and we keep winning they will play hard. Most people would rather win on a team of dicks then be on a losing team with players they like. Winning cures everything.
I agree 100%. He's been kind of looked over his entire career, which he may not see as fair. Completely understandable after having a career year, why not go somewhere where he's going to be the guy (which I'm confused about, being that Jamaal Charles was one of the best RBs in the league last year when he got his shot). LT, on the other hand, just got cut and the teams he's going to see aren't the Seahawks or the Browns, but the Vikings and the Jets. The fact that he went to the Vikes, willing to obviously take a backseat to one of the top young RBs in the game, is enough to convince me that he's willing to be that role player. If he proves to be completely healthy and comes out on fire for this team, then fantastic, give him the ball more, but he knows what his role is going to be and just wants to win a championship. I can respect that and hope he can do that with the Jets. Jones wants to be the feature back, and I can respect that too, but that wouldn't happen here on this team. If you ask me, I'll take the guy looking to get onto a team that just made the playoffs and wants to win over the guy that wants the glory as the feature back on a basement dweller.
You dont have to enjoy it as long as your winning. Its when they finished 9-7 when people started bitching. You with if we finished 12-4 players would have wanted him out.
this whole thing reminds me of the Bart Scott (he is, he isn'tsigning last year... "He's gonna be a Jet!!" "Shit...I just saw Balt. wants to keep him" "We just made him a great offer...he'll be wearing green!!" "Fuck...Balt just matched our offer" etc, etc... I just hope we end up on the winning end again this time And if any one is looking for some fun reading go to the Vikes board. Two days ago they loved LT now they all want him dead!
Its about time for the Viking's to e-mail LT their "ace in the hole" to guarantee he's wearing purple next year.
thats the beauty of having two other capable backs on the roster. LT doesn't need to be anything more than a contributor. if he can do more than that it's just gravy.
And don't think Tannenbaum isn't on the phone with LTs agent too. With TJ gone, if we truly want to be "ground and pound," we need a guy like LT to do some of the pounding. Greene's young, fresh legs only grab those 12-yard rippoffs when he's had somebody like TJ or LT pounding out the hard yards ahead of time to soften things up. Throw Washington in the mix and you've got a running game bar none. LT's no fool. He's playing both the Purple and Green right now like a polished violinist.
Same here, I wanted Mike Bell all along because you know he'd accept that role as the 3rd back. I was surprised to see that LT was willing to do the same and am intrigued by having a fresh LT in the backfield.
