Nick Saban went out of his way to say Cody had really taken the weight loss thing seriously for the Combine... not that he'd ever done that while at Bama. To me that was a subtle bashing of the guy's real work ethic.

actually Saban was impressed that he got his weight down, because he stayed put at 355 all season, and got down to 348 for his pro day.

it was more light humor than anything. Saban makes sure a work ethic is strong when you play for him. He doesn't mess around.

he jumped from 350 to 370 because of late night snacks. He stopped and became more disciplined. He's fine and his stock is right where it should be.

Dont get me wrong I would love to have a guy of his stature in the middle of this d line....but, I dont think he would be a good fit at all for our D. Yes he is big and eats up blockers but...who the hell is going to rush the passer with the one-on-one he frees up? Not Vern, Not the cactus. I would rather use our pick on a DE or OLB. Rembember, J. Williams and Keamatue (or however you spell it our out there, both comming off injury but out there). Take Hughes or Norwood

I'm sorry to admit this, if the Jets draft Terrence Cody....he would be considered a BUST by Jet fans after one season.

Why? Because most fans expect "Big Numbers" from a high draft pick, Cody isn't that type of player. Cody is a big blob in the Middle taking up space to let our linebackers make plays. Cody will never have many sacks or tackles.

I think most people realize what the nimbers of a good NT are and not blinded by the fact that the sack and tackle numbers will not be spectacular.

One thing I never see mentioned that is a huge minus for Cody is his agent: Good old Alvin Keels. Yes I really believe the fact this assclown is his agent is going to hurt him come draft time. It is also a reason that if there is another comparable player available to the Jets all things being equal, I think the Jets should stay away from this guy.

I'm a Cam Thomas supporter. I think he can contribute at multiple positions on our defensive line, while Cody is a one dimensional nose tackle.

Linval Joseph out of ECU is also an intriguing prospect to look at towards the end of the second round.

Depending on what we do in the first round, I'll really be pulling for the Jets to draft someone like Tyson Alualu, Cam Thomas, or Linval Joseph in the second.
