How do you think this conversation is going to go? "Honey, would you rather go to Minny or New York?" Tanny's made harder transactions, my money's still on LT coming here.

Oh hell yeah.... if I was forced to move back East it'd be NYC all the way. It's the greatest city in the world so why would a marketable pro athlete with lots of disposable income and not want to live there?

what are you saying??? i think if you said mark sanchez could retire today you would logically be correct but fucking stupid for saying it.

with LT seriously considering Minny stating, as early as today isn't off base..

LT may prefer to play in a dome at this point in his career too....which of course...Minny has over us.

Didn't he say he'd rather play on grass than turf?

I didn't think about that. He spent his career playing in near perfect weather, but that clearly hasn't helped him much in the last 2 seasons.

Coming to New York would make much more sense though. He's trying to end his career with a bang, and where better than the media capital of the world?

I don't remember seeing anything to that effect coming from LT.

i'm still hanging my hat on Minny's QB situation....Favre being Favre regarding the indecisiveness....has to weigh heavily on LT's mind. There's no way in hell that Minny would be in the running...if Tarvaris is the starter.

I agree, but I don't think he's settling on either coast. I read recently he just built a house in Texas.

This makes me go back to my original feelings on the situation. I thought the Vikings would land him, then I thought we had a good shot when he was staying over. Now? I'm starting to think the Vikings are going to win out again. Hopefully I'm just paranoid.

Lol what does the media capitol of the world have to do with anything?

I'd imagine he'd want to go to the jets because of their o-line and Schotenheimer
I doubt he just recently built a house there, since his family lives there and he lived there his whole life before moving to SD. And he often goes there in the offseason i believe.

And don't forget it's possible he could visit the eagles and saints next week. He did say he could make a decision this weekend though

I really have no idea what the jets are thinking here.. If they were going to go this route they should have kept Jones. Lt WAS great but Jones has been much better over the past few years.
If they do sign him it looks to me like this will be as bad as when they signed Ronnie Lott. makes no sense at all. i saw mentioned by Tanny that LT can bring veteran presence? so why cut the Veteran team leader?? i I hope this doesn't happen I believe LT is done as where Jones probably has another year or two in him..

As was mentioned before, the last time that conversation was had, our hopeful new corner's wife opted for Minnesota.

Exposure. He wants to show everyone that he still has tank in the gas, and where better to do that than in New York?

You also have to think that Favre's ego might not want to share the spotlight with LT. Tomlinson might be at the end of his career but could you imagine how much attention he'd get as opposed to Burt if he signed with the Viqueens?

seriously, screw off with the TJ comparison already.

This has been beaten to death profusely over the last couple of days.

TJ DOESN'T BRING THE SAME SKILLSET THAT LT DOES TO THE TABLE!!

Neither is a long term choice anyway, but if you're going to be splitting carries between three backs, then LT is the better option.

This is my thinking. Without Favre Minnesota don't have a leader; it may make them more run-heavy, but they're not winning a Superbowl next year.

Possible, but I imagine LT wouldn't see much action in that offense with Favre slinging it and AP getting the majority of the carries. Therefore he wouldn't get as much attention imo

What if Greene goes down? You think you can count on Washington and LT to carry the load?

Agreed. Anyone who watched Jets games, particularly in the last quarter of the season saw a TJ whose runs got as far the O-line got him. There was no getting to the next level.

Apologies if this is already in another thread, but how does this affect Washington?

I'm sure we're going to draft another line-pounder regardless whether or not we land LT. I'm thinking Gerhart.

Both teams almost made it to the SB last year and both should be very good in 2010.
You'd like to figure the better facilities and stadium that the Jets have would get him to pass on Minnesota so long as the deals offered are close.
