Blount blows off Pro Day Posted by Mike Florio on March 11, 2010 7:27 PM ET We tend to not get too worked up about Pro Day workouts, the touring, off-Broadway version of the Underwear Olympics. But while it's difficult for a guy to do anything to dramatically improve his stock via a Pro Day workout, a guy can screw himself up by, for example, not showing up. Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount, whose career was derailed by a 10-game suspension imposed after he punched a guy following the first game of the 2009 season, blew off his Pro Day workout, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com. As Brandt points out, Blount's decision not to work out "likely will prompt more questions." .................................................................................................................... Another moron just like Anthony Davis. It tells me that the player is probably out of shape. I can't believe some of these guys don't care about their career. Anthony Davis.....Rd 2 . LeGarrette Blount .....late Day 3 pick.
It just amazes me how these guys could care less about the kind of money they are leaving out on the table because they aren't fully committed to their position, and won't even participate in planed events. Blount seems like he is going to be another guy that has all the physical tools and everything else he needs to be a successful sports athlete, except for a will and desire to even care.
Jets draft motto... "talent & character, one doesn't go without the other" No way any of those two land here...
Yeah that is some bullshit I dont know all the guy has to do is show up, even if he doesnt run all the drills at least show up and pretend to care
Schefter just reported that he is going to work out on Oregon's second pro day. Adam_Schefter: Just as it sounded - and now confirmed. RT @caplannfl: RB LeGarrette Blount will be working out at Oregon's second Pro Day on 3/18. http://twitter.com/Adam_Schefter
An interview with Tanny.. he was describing the draft room and one wall has this phrase written on in capital letters. PS: Blount was always going to attend Oregon's second pro day... Gil Brandt screwed up (per NFL.com)
I'm gunna trust Schefter over Florio. Florio is hell bent on sensationalism and being a completely ignorant fool
Agreed 100%. This doesn't change the fact that Blount is a punk though. I want the Jets to stay far away from him.
Yeah you beat me to it..blount was never gonna workout at the first Pro day..he was always gonna workout at his 2nd pro day
please, that boise st player who came up to him and said lord knows what is the punk ... and he got laid out like one
Eh, you might be right. I'm not so sure. Aside from a vague, ominous suspension from a departing head coach, the Boise State incident is the only glaring red flag I see. The sucker punch and ensuing tantrum was bush league, punk behavior, you can't excuse that. But as red flags go, flipping out on smack-talking players and fans after a tough loss doesn't rank up there with drug violations or multiple DUI's or off-field assaults, at least in my eyes. Since that one incident, Blount's been clean. He made all the right apologies to the right people. The "terms" of his reinstatment are fuzzy, but I think the fact that it wasn't Oregon but the PAC-10 that reinstated him speaks volumes. Whether or not you think he deserves one, he's been working very hard for a second chance. ...And it's not like reporters haven't been scavenging for dirt on the kid. Look how this non-story was spun.
That's only one you've seen because it was on national television. I've heard plenty of bad stuff about Blount. He starts fights at practice, talks back to coaches, and thinks he's above everyone. I think he's a very talented power back, but if he doesn't get his head on straight, all of that talent will be wasted.
