I would definitely prefer the first one, unless we traded Leon. I'm not keen on using a 1st rounder on a third string RB when we have so many other holes. I don't think Thomas will fall to us in round 1, though, unfortunately.

Honestly, I'd be ecstatic with either one.

Freddie Barnes doesn't have any injury concerns. The guy sprained his knee and missed some games during his junior season. There was no ligament damage.

The guy's only been at receiver for two full seasons.

The offense he played in is pretty ridiculous. It's basically all option routes, but Barnes showed quickness in and out of his breaks. He's one of the better route runners in this draft.

Buffalo's Naaman Roosevelt and Freddie Barnes were two of the biggest combine snubs that I've seen in a long time. I don't think it's a coincidence that both play in the Mid-Atlantic Conference either.

If we drafted a running back in the first or second round, he most definitely wouldn't be a third stringer. That player would be making more money than Greene and Washington. If Leon Washington remains with the Jets in 2010, he'll be the third option if the Jets take a running back in this draft.

To me, Earl Thomas can definitely fall as far as 20, so I just put a little bit of hope into Mock 1. The Niners will take a running back or Taylor Mays. The Texans will take a running back or a corner. That leaves Dallas...they desperately need help on the offensive line and at safety. Hopefully they go with someone like Iupati.

^ and considering he's coming back from double-compound-broken-leg, he should be the 3rd back.

Can't remember where I read it, but it was stated as tendonitis, not a sprain. I'll see if I can find a link.

Barnes suffered a pretty bad sprain at the beginning of his junior year. I think he missed the last three games with tendinitis from that same injury. He probably just came back too fast.

I chose the mock with my two favorite players in it.

In all seriousness though, I really think Rex Ryan out scheme the majority of the offensive coordinator in this league with almost anyone on his defense. He just has to find guys that can fit into what he's trying to do.

Landing players like Ryan Mathews and Freddie Barnes would give our offense a few more playmakers, which means a few more points in each game.

As much as I like Cam Thomas, Rex Ryan has never really had a jumbo sized nose tackle until Kris Jenkins. Kelly Gregg is a little over 300 pounds and he's one of the more underrated players in the league.

No link to be found, so I'm guesing its from one of the draft Mags I was reading while the woman spends 3 fucking hours shopping at Wal-mart.

Barnes was highly productive, against poor opponents, and good against the bigger clubs. He would be a good fit in the slot in the later half of the draft so I'm not down on him at all.

This is exactly what I'm thinking.

Unfortunately, my little brother is a Niners' fan. He's pissed right now because Mike Singletary is so high on Taylor Mays. He's leaving for basic training in a couple of weeks, so he won't get to watch the draft. Even if the Niners don't draft Mays, I'm still going to send him a picture of the guy just to fuck with him.

Houston needs help a corner more than anything. Kyle Wilson is a huge possibility there. Dallas is the team that worries me the most. It would be a hometown selection plus a need.

Earl Thomas, Cam Thomas, and my favorite late round RB Andre Dixon would be amazing.

Dallas needs O-Line help in the worst way, so I hope they would pass on E. Thomas. Mayock has Thomas rated higher than Berry. Usually, I agree with Mayock, Thomas isn't better than Berry.

With Thomas, Iupati, Kindle, Mathews & Wilson all very possibily off the board (Which I had in my most recent Mock) when the Jets are OTC, the best scenario would be to trade down. Maybe some team in the Early/Mid Round 2 would want Odrick, Golden Tate or Pouncey.

I do expect Golden Tate to be available at #29...with Baltimore and now Cincy (Bryant) signing WRs. I don't see alot of teams ahead of us needing a WR.

If the Jets can't get out of #29.....Golden Tate would be my BPA.

    They're still the same age.

Eric Berry was the most dominant player in the best conference in college football.

I have him rated behind Suh but before McCoy.

I dont like taking Matthews in the first, but there is just to much upside to pass on in that 2nd one plus I dont think Earl Thomas will be available

This is how I feel about it too, at least in terms of replacing Kerry Rhodes. All we need is a guy with average measurables and awareness who'll listen to whatever the fuck Jim Leonhard tells him to do.
