Okay, so now the talk to move Mays to LB all over the internet is really heating up and it just makes me even more uncomfortable with Mays being a top tier pick in this draft. Mays is not a LB. Sure it worked out great with Cato June, but Cato could cover and was simply moved based on the system and a need in the system. It was one experiment that paid off, not a trend.

With so much depth in this draft, I just don’t see any team reaching and taking chances on a guy like Mays in the first round. He has the raw athletic skills that just blow everyone away, but his coverage issues becoming even more of a concern to me as the draft gets nearer. Talk me out of it. Maybe I am just going way overboard here, but I have moved Taylor Mays down to #40 on my big board. He is more worth the risk in the second round.

The Rams have made the moves that teams make when they draft a QB. Signing a veteran to a two year deal is a pretty good tip off for a grooming stage. I don’t know if this is a great pick for them, but I do believe it is the right direction for them. This team needs a new identity and this move gives them that.

I'm not ready to kick Mays out of rd 1, some team will take a chance, maybe the Cowboys or Vikings.

Marlin Jackson being signed by Philly really hurts Mays now. I could be right!

Ew no way would I take pouncey in the first, he is good but he is far from our top need at this point

Also with Taylor Mays work out numbers I cant see how he is not an Oakland Raiders, I also here he interviews quite well so I cant see how he does not make it out of the first round

Vikings are not that stupid, and they need corner and OL help way more than safety help IMO.

Isn't Pouncey a center as well?

Looks like he's the flavor of the moment. Next week I'm sure it'll be someone else.

You're wrong! Vikings fans have been begging for more safeties.

The Vikes need Safety help.....end of story.

Madieu Williams & Tyrell Johnson.....nuff said.

Hahaha yeah they definitely need safety help and will probably pick one somewhere in the draft, but they've drafted pretty well recently so I just don't see them going for such a shaky prospect like Taylor Mays.

One other huge need that I forgot to mention is another starting caliber LB. Brinkley did a terrible job in filling in for EJ Henderson last year. Once EJ Henderson got injured their entire defense turned to shit.

EJ Henderson is beastly when he's healthy, but he's been injured quite a lot, I can see them picking a LB in the first round, but honestly I really think they're going corner, especially because it's starting to look like that'll be the BPA.

I had a little thought on Mays....

If, as you said, Mays has talent that blows everyone away BUT, lacks a true NFL position slot.....

I think Rex looks at this a little differently... Remember Rex puts players all over the place - so, to Rex "Where in my defense can Taylor Mays fit in?"..... I think is a completely different situation than the Draft Pundits debating wether this guy is a LB or S....

I think to Rex, it matters little what cookie cutter mold this guy fits in and more to where Rx can utilize TALENT when he's mixing guys up all over the place...

Above all, Is this guy a SMART FOOTBALL PLAYER?
