ok so this is probably an irrelevant thread but might just be something to talk about. so i know we tendered him and everything but how is this guy still here?! its funny how a couple years ago he was our future qb now he doesnt fit in with our future plans, he will no be the starter for this team and it is not like he is the veteran leadership to help progress a young qb(as we all know sanchez has already more starts then him). so what do you guys think we will do with him? there is no way we are going to go into the season carrying 4 qbs again. that is just a waste of a spot. i know we arnt going to cut him since we tendered him but do you think tanny is thinking of using him for some trade value? maybe to the rams for that safety everyone here is talking about. if we do some how get rid of him who would you like to see has his replacement? would you want to just keep ainge as the main back up or like me want to bring in a veteran who can help sanchez mature and learn the game. maybe a guy like garcia or what is vinny doing these days?(just joking) sorry for the long post and rambling but i am high off some vicodin and percocets from the dental work i had done so a little out of it and bored. lol:metal:
I'm sure if they find someone better they'll cut him loose, but at this point the only FAs available that I'd seriously consider replacing him with are Troy Smith, Matt Moore and Charlie Batch. And Smith isn't much of a vet, Moore will probably be resigned by Carolina and Batch is coming off wrist surgery. edit - or Delhomme, forgot he was still available Ok.. I get your sarcasm. But DA was just cut in favor of Brady Quinn/Seneca Wallace/Brett Ratliff. He's a bum, he always was and he always will be.
Hes been here for awhile and knows the play book. Clemens isnt a good QB but he is really good at not fucking up. Thats why we let him start the Tampa game. Cus any Qb can beat tampa as long as he doesnt fuck up.
troy smith is actually something to think about if he is available and we lose leon for whatever reason. is would be a lot similar to brad smith, we can use him for the wild cat and the option play that we run now may make it tricky because not only can they both run but they can both pass. idk if this is legal but imagine the option with the pitch troy then a quick pass to brad when all the attention is troy. im pretty sure that wouldnt work but sounds cool lol
yeah but he knows how not to fuck up to a point where he doesnt do anything that fucks us up. what if we need a qb to step in and we arnt playing against tampa. it was horrible watching him conduct that offense. if we were playing a better team that could stop the run and had anything of an offense we would of been fucked
Yea but theres very few teams with a backup QB that can come in and win. The ones that do are the ones that drafted a QB and are getting him ready for the future. IE Chad Pennington goes down and Henne comes in.
Regardless of what Clemens did/didn't do in the Tampa game, our offense was so Godawful because BS played Martyball.
point well taken. i think it was worse with clemens though bc at one time everyone was calling for him to be our starting qb and he was the one that was to lead us for the next ten years
So? That game was all about the defense winning the game because both teams knew what was going to happen when the Jets had the ball. And the defense won that game. It was one of the games the jets played that went according to plan.
I don't disagree with you. I'm just saying, in response to vin, that's why our offense looked horrible. The game was already well in hand when Schotty started playing martyball, at which point the pass game was abandoned and the run game imploded.
Interesting. At this point, Sanchez has started and played in more games than K.C. so in comparison he is only a veteran by league tenure not games started or played. In fact I am not sure what K.C. can do for Sanchez at this point. That said, I keep him because of his familiarity with the system, but I see no other reason than that....
