The knock on Cody is that he is very lazy. If he had a reputation of being a hard worker then he would probably be a top 10 pick. The talent and all of the tools are there. Just my opinion.

Welcome to the board. I am a Colts fan who stops in here from time to time. The Jets fans here really know their stuff and are some of the coolest fans in the world. You will like it here.

By my current count, with the Bills reportedly switching over, there are 14 teams in the NFL running a 34 base. That is a ton.

Living in Steeler country I can tell you for years they were able to feild a defense that had consistantly replaceable guys because there were so few teams taking the tweener prospects they needed. Now with a shade under half the league runnign the 34 those prospects are in higher demand than ever.

Then there is a big body theory. There are only so many extremely large athletes who can handle the 0 tech to go around. When 5 teams ran the 34 they could all fill it and have adquate depth. With 14 this is quickly going to become a big ticket, highly drafted position IMO.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Thats my point- he is not known to have the greatest work ethic but at what point does he stop falling past 3-4 teams? at what point is he worth the pick?

If he is there when we pick in the 2nd round i wouldn't mind grabbing him. Jenkins wont be around too much longer.

They drafted Jake Long for that a few years ago... I think if they took an OT with the first pick when they desperately need WR, ILB, OLB, and Safety help, it would be a move Miami regrets quickly.

Another head scratcher I just noticed is Dez Bryant to the Bills, I think you should switch Miami's and Buffalo's picks haha.

Not knocking you as a poster of course, I think you're a great non-Jets fan poster, but living in Miami I guess I have a different view on the needs of the Miami Dolphins. Maybe they'll prove me wrong on draft day.

Another part of my thinking on this was the Dolphins also need a guard, so they could draft a tackle and insert them in at guard for a year.

You could be right. I think I will go check out the Dolphins board and see what they're view on this is.

    Thanks!

    Welcome Devin!!!

It's really difficult to tell what direction the Jet's will go with their RD 1 & 2 picks, it's too early.

The Jets only dressed 4 D-Line in a few games, to bolster our secondary for the game plan.

I'm in the believe of BPA at #29...within reason...NO QB or 4-3 defensive players that don't fit our scheme.

Remember, as Rex has said.."I never have enough CBs"...so don't rule it out in Rd 1.

IMO, Tanny isn't done picking up players. We could be signing a Safety and Tanny has announced he's interested in bringing back Laveranues Coles....has to be a good price.

I'm in the small minority that believes a Team is going to tender Washington and we might lose him. It all depends on the Team making the offer and where in Rd 2 the compensation will be offered to the Jets.

No problem, TheFins.com is the only Dolphins fansite I know about, in case you couldn't find a good one.

    Freebo...nice mock!!!

Very well thought out, enjoyed it!!

I'm not a Trent Williams fan and don't see him going that high in Rd 1. Williams is destined to play RTin the NFL and that's real high for a RT.

Odrick is a good player, I'd rather consider.ALex Carrington, Corey Wootten or Arthur Jones later. I'd take McCourty using my BPA theory.

Again, great job..nice to have another team's fan on this site.

Maybe next year you can put your bid in for the Colts in our TGG Mock drafts...Jan/3 Rd, March/7 Round. I think it would be great to get another Team's fan to be GM for their respective team.

I don't think he's first round material, but He is the kind of player the patriots really like to play OLB in the 3-4 with the ability to move onto the line when they run 4 man fronts. The patriots still have a real need for pass rushers, and I just can't see them going WR/TE at 44 and 47 with Hughes on the board. That just stuck out to me, the biggest weaknesses for the pats are on Defense, and based on their draft history I can't see them loading up on Offensive players like that.

Nice work freebo, this looks pretty realistic.

I just really suggest spacing it out of bolding it or something, it is hard to read.

We don't have a 3rd round pick, and I'd rather have Montario Hardesty.

We'd probably have to move up into the middle of the second round to get Hardesty.

Wow really? I knew his stock has gone up but I didn't know it was at mid 2nd.

I thought late 2nd early 3rd...like Shonn Greene last year.

Right now, the general consensus is that CJ Spiller, Ryan Mathews, and Jahvid Best are the top three backs...in that order.

After those guys, we have Montario Hardesty, Ben Tate, and Toby Gerhart.

Gerhart and Tate are definitely more realistic options.

Hardesty was very good at Tennessee and he had one of the best combine workouts.

Yeah I would be happy with Ben Tate as well, I really like his running style.

Jahvid Best scares me and I would not want him on our team, even if we needed a change of pace/scat back..I'm surprised he is pretty much the concencus #3 RB.

I'm not that high on Best either, but no one can deny his game breaking speed and playmaking ability.

There was an overrated/underrated thread earlier in the year, and Best was one of my overrated players. This was back when he was considered a top fifteen pick.

I think Chris Johnson's success will make some teams consider Best earlier than they should. Johnson is a much tougher runner than Best is, but certain GMs will be amazed with his speed.

Here were my thoughts on Best and I still believe them:

I think he's the best small back to come out of Cal, so he should have better production than guys like Arrington and Forsett. If he ends up in the right place, he could have success. I could see him complimenting Adrian Peterson in Minnesota or Frank Gore in San Francisco.

He's far too similar to Steve Slaton for the Houston Texans to draft him. It'll be interesting to see if San Diego goes for the bigger, more complete back in Ryan Mathews or the small, quick back in Jahvid Best. I know they already have a scat back in Sproles, but I could see them going after Best to eventually replace him.

Ditto. Miami and the Pats have an urgent need at RB.
