I certainly don't believe that they are the "biggest names" on the team. But to me they are big names. TJ after scoring 14 TDs and running 1400 yards is certainly a big name.

Lito, I already said he should have been let go.

Washington is absolutely a big name. Prior to the injury, he was arguably the most popular player on the Jets. Evidentally, he wasn't that popular, because some people on this board actually don't want him on the team.

Rumor has it the Pats are gonna go after Leon. They have 3 2nd round picks. That would suck, anywhere but there. Obviously this is old news. If he goes to the Pats, then I have to root for him to break his leg again. Why couldn't he just take the contract we offerred him last year, greedy bastard.

You should read what I write, before you comment on it.

I want the team to improve in the areas where improvement is necessary. I DO NOT want the team to stay exactly the same. I want to keep the majority of the team and fill only the gaps that need to be filled, such as the CornerBack position, which the Jets rightly filled with the Cro-man.

I explained my positions on all the players that the Jets let go or are planning to let go fully. I like that the Bears are willing to spend the money to have a better team. I see the Jets as doing the opposite.

He wasn't a star in the first place, so how can he be one again?

The guy's a good football player, but he'll be a role player in our offense now.

I hope someone trades for him. It's going to be like end of the world around here.

Yeah, Cutler worked out real well for them so far.

I see that you're ridiculously uninformed. The Jets can't (that's can and not put together: cannot) sign UFAs unless one of our own signs elsewhere.

Star might be a stretch but he was a big player for us and I think his role will be expanded w/ Jones gone. he had 72 carries last year through 6 + games, the 2 previous years he averaged 74 so there's no doubt he's going to be a much bigger part of this offense.

Yeah, in 2008 he had the most combined yards-

He was looking better and better, in 2009 he never got a chance to get it going. Or really get used to his new increased role.

Contrary to your revisionist history, he absolutely was a star on this team.

He was often called 'the most explosive player' on the team by both fans and the media throughout his tenure. At the time he was offered a contract extension it would have made him the 4th highest paid player on the offense and 6th highest paid player on the team.

In 2008 he was not only a Pro Bowl selection, but also voted All Pro.

You may feel that he no longer fits into the current scheme as well as he once did, but to deny that he was a star is blind and dishonest.

The Bears just spent over 50 million dollars in guarantees for 3 players that are 30 and over, right after they missed the playoffs. Those moves are what a team that is close to challenging for a Super Bowl berth does to get over the top - not just to stay in the argument. That's stupidity and desperation. I'm not surprised that you like it.

He was our most electrifying player and the only one that could take it "to the house" from anywhere on the field. He certainly was a star player for us. I don't have the stats off the top of my head but I wouldn't be surprised if he had twice as many 20+ yard plays on offense than the next guy on our team. I'll Google it later because I have to go into a meeting soon.

I really hope that San Fran tries to sign him. As much as I doubt his ability to return and be anywhere near as effective as he was, I still do not like the idea of having to root against Leon. Plus, if the Jets don't match the offer sheet than they get San Fran's original pick. It's one after pick after Miami's but still better than the Pats.

I understand that. What I'm alluding to is the fact that the Jets are dumping players as cost cutting measures, when they can just as easily sign them.

If he's still on the Jets this year, he might have a bigger role. He's underutilized because he can't take the punishment. Don't get me wrong, Washington is a dangerous weapon as a situational change-of-pace back, but I just don't see how he fits into our scheme anymore.

I still have a feeling the Jets will sign and draft a running back.

You guys realize Washington's not going to be a Jet in 2011, right? If he has a halfway decent year, he'll demand big money again...and he's not getting it.

I really don't see a point in keeping Washington for one year. This team has to move on. Shonn Greene was the first step.

I don't care either way as long as we get compensated well for him (2nd rounder), or he signs at a reasonable price. I'd much rather have him for another year than Jones.
