I wouldn't mind getting a two but I think the Jets would have to match if it was the Pats that offered him a deal. If it was somebody else maybe just take the pick depending on what the deal is but with New England you can't let him play you two possibly 3 times a year with Brady and Welker in that offense.
Dude, you deserve getting bashed half the time. You are one of them worst posters on TGG during game days.
If the Pats got Marshall and Leon we would have some seriously epic match ups to look foward to. Yeah theyd easily have the most powerful offense EVER (at least for the years where Marshall/Moss/Welker is their 1-2-3 ), but wed also have a absolutely insane defense Im kinda tempted for it to happen, simply because it would give our a defense a chance to prove how great they really are. Although I feel for whoever our #3 guy that would have to cover Welker would be. Plus Marshall/Leon can both completely backfire/blow up in their faces
I wasnt complaining about people bashing me I know what to expect from the usual suspects. But...If you look at your mouse you probably have a button that allows you to scroll down. So heres what you do...when you see a post you dont like you put your miserable little finger on the button and roll it down...and almost like magic...you no longer see the post. Try it...it works, I swear...
Yeah, that makes sense. Anybody with fewer than 150 carries is obviously going to have a high YPC. All I did was respond to the other person's post with facts. The other guy wrote Jones was putrid with TB. That simply was not the case. He did not become the starter till late in the season. He put up quality numbers first as a backup and then as a starter late in the year. He parlayed that success into a nice contract and starting job in Chicago for the following season. Yes, there is a difference, MrElectric29.
The difference is 153 carries... A running backs YPC is more than likely going to be higher with a lesser amount of attempts. I'll use another Jet as an example: In 2005, Leon Washington carried the ball 151 times with a YPC of 4.3. The next year, he carried the ball only 71 times with a YPC of 5.0. Sweet emoticon. Too bad we don't have one of Bartolo Colon's backside for you to use in every post.
That IS true... because it means that every time he attempts a run he'll be fresher... and having fresh legs for a RB means a lot! Problem is usually bad players get few reps and good players get more reps so you don't really see it but I think Mr.E's point is valid...
Really? You want the TT forum back? Haven't heard that one before... As much as people are trolling, posts that add absolutely nothing to a thread and are just meant to ridicule other posters have to stop. It's one of those things: it's okay once in a while, but when you overdo it, the board gets watered down with crap. People get away with it because they're bending and not breaking the rules. Doesn't mean it's remotely productive. Comments like "Who are you?" add nothing to a thread and are part of the reason we got rid of post counts in the first place. Stick to football. This is the Jets forum.
Oh, how cute. I see you know how to do Google searches. For every example you give I'll send one right back at you. Marcus Allen 1985: 380 carries, 4.6 avg 1986: 208 carries, 3.6 avg
A few things: I love it when people get out of control. I have NO memory for who said what at any time previous to yesterday, how the hell does anyone? Lastly: I'm torn. I agree that Leon is worth more to us than a second, but I feel if we had an extra second, we'd essentially be able to grab any of those players we all kinda covet in round one: Kyle Wilson, Brandon Graham, Earl Thomas. Having them AND still ahving a second for a RB is better than Leon to me - go fig.
Let me get this staright. We lose TJ and now you guys want to lose Leon too?? So I guess it's ok for our depth chart to be Shonne Greene and Danny Woodhead.
I'm pretty sure our depth chart is gonna change a few times before the start of the season. Relax.......have a fuckin' pepsi.
Yes. We want to lose TJ and Leon and then not sign any FAs and not draft anyone at all. That's the plan.
It depends on a number of things. A runner whose team is up big in the 4th quarter is going to see his AVG take a hit. A runner whose team is behind big has a good chance to increase his AVG because the opponent is going to allow more yardage as time running off the clock becomes a bigger issue. We have also seen backs who gain more yards per carry the more carries they get and on and on... Bad lines, good lines, tandem backfields, all sorts of stuff comes into play. What better examples do we need than Jim Brown and Barry Sanders? Those guys had tons of carries but still had high averages per carry.
Am I as cute as Bartolo Colon? This is a different kind of league now. It's evolved. You can bring up all of the classic stats you want...I know it makes you feel superior, but it still doesn't change the fact that this is a different kind of game now. The feature back is an endangered species. Teams get more production out of RBBCs.
Of course all of that stuff has to be taken into account. I never said it didn't. My point is that usually when a back carries the a lot, his average is lower than a back that receives less chances.
ManishMehta1 What GM would offer longterm deal? Likely none RT @BobGlauber Leon Washington prob couldnt pass physical. Jets HOPE he'll be ready by opener about 2 hours ago via web
