Since when has a young kicker been better than an old one. This is not a position where getting old is bad. It's all about mental toughness and that is what Feely has, he is extremely confident! Also Nick Folk has been playing poorly in Dallas, what is he going to do while playing in the wind and cold. That being said i believe feely is going to come back. If we signed folk it was in case of insurance if we can't bring back feely. Jay will be our kicker next year Rex loves him and Feely loves playing for him.
Maybe we can sign him as a non-kicking special teamer. I'm really not concerned about his tackling abilities, it's his ability to kick the ball through the uprights. 19th in the league is not exactly top table.
Everybody ages differently there are some kickers who lose leg strength others play until there 47(Morten Andersen). Based on the fact he keeps himself in top shape, I wouldn't bet on him losing his leg strength but who knows. I like Feely and I would like to keep him but if we don't I'm not going to lose sleep either. Folks leg can handle the wind.
if you had searched the site before making this thread again you would see that before jerry jones opened up his stupid mouth and called folk out he had been arguably better than feely since he arrived with the jets. kickers get into mental funks and it takes them awhile to get out of them. if folk returns to his old ways with a change of scenery it will end up being a non issue for us.
And from a recent Cimini blog post: I'm a Feely fan and am appreciative of the stability he brought to the position though if his agent is asking for crazy money then perhaps it's best to part ways ... I mean, there's only so much you can budget for kickers and punters on the roster.
I can't believe he drank from the golden goblet! Obviously Jesus would have used the wooden cup! Unbelievable.
