yeah 4th and 7th is not worth it, I would rather have kept Rhodes. Hopefully Ryan has his eye on some safety in the draft.
I'm fine with this. Not ecstatic, but I wanted Kerry Rhodes off this team, I wanted a Joey Clinkscales Gold Coin (a fourth rounder) and I got both in the same move. Somebody tell Badger to get a new sig!
Beat me to it. Warner is taking any chance AZ had of going back to the playoffs with him into retirement.
If that's the case I have no problem with the move, I actually like it in that case, but Eric Smith is a starter not. He's a nice player in a specific situational role and that's about it.
Cro played some safety for the Chargers. They were talking about this on WFAN. I dont think its likely, but if it happens gonna be hard to be pleased.
Its funny how the fanbase wants a third but a 4th is fucking terrible. Guess what fans? The NFL didn't see Rhodes as a 3rd pick, they saw him as a 4th... get over it and understand we have an extra pick for the best draft class in 10 years... fuckin babies.
I am not a huge fan of this move strictly from the standpoint I think they could have gotten at least a 3rd, BUT this is a different regime in years past guys. I have complete faith in Tanny and I am 100% certain they wouldn't make this move without having something up their sleeve (draft or Atogwe).
I think the only thing we can count on as Jets fans is that Tannenbaum makes the offseason very interesting for us. I firmly expect the Jets to make some great moves. Also, in an interview on the Kay show on Friday, Tannenbaum kept saying they no longer need to use the 29th pick on a CB. which means they will keep Cromartie. Also, MT said they would trade out of the 29th in a heart beat.
I just did a Yahoo, Bing, and Google search on ALL the modeling agencies in Arizona. Results: Rhodes is fucked
Voice of reason. If there was a team that would have given us a 3rd, then Tannenbaum would have traded Rhodes to them.
if tanny could have gotten a 3rd, he would have gotten a 2nd. the entire nfl knows what we know. damn.
I don't know what to think about the trade. Let's see what happens next. Rhodes was not an impact player for us in the last couple of seasons but he wasn't a hole either. If they'd gotten a 3rd I'd have figured it was a good deal without parsing it too heavily.
Just FYI-- For those talking about OJ Atogwe... Apparently the guy has a messed up shoulder, and probably cannot even pass a physical. That's why the Rams gave him the LOWEST tender possible(knowing the market would be dry for hiim). I personally want Ryan Clark for the Fins...
Best draft class in years or not, replacing Rhodes with the what 26th pick of the 4th round wont exactly be easy. And im sure we wont be the only team bigging on Atogwe. The Rams will definitely try to bring him back, Chicago still wants a FS, and now that Miami released Wilson AND really wanted Rolle you damn well know theyre gonna be gunning really hard to keep Atogwe from an AFC east rival. Atogwe is far from a sealed deal. But if we get him then im certain most people will be content with this trade.
