Based on needs, value and possibile availability at 29 Overall

    NO PARTICULAR ORDER

    S Earl Thomas
    OLB Jerry Hughes
    OLB Sergio Kindle
    34DE Brian Price
    S Taylor Mays

I didn't list Brandon Graham or Dan Williams only because I don't see much chance of them being there.

    RB Ryan Mathews
    WR Golden Tate
    DE Carlos Dunlap
    3-4 OLB Sergio Kindle
    OG Mike Iupati

There's no reason to go after another small back like Jahvid Best. I'd really like to see the Jets pick up some like Gerhart or Hardesty in the second.

Thomas Jones isn't going to re-sign. Running back has become a huge need now.

Im going to do like Jabba because at the moment I am still fuzzy about where the Jets could go

DE/DT Jared Odrick-Penn State (also Tanny likes picking big 10 people early)
    DE/DT Lamar Houston-Texas
    OLB Jerry Hughes- TCU
    WR Damian Williams- USC
    DT-Terrance Cody, Alabama

    HB-Ryan Matthews
    DT-Terrance Cody
    WR-Arrelious Benn
    WR-Golden Tate
    OLB/DE - Brandon Graham ** Yes, i still believe we'll have a shot at him @ pick 29

I don't think they go RB early if at all. They drafted Greene anticipating Jones would not be here in 2010. Greene/Washington is a heckuva combination. I think they will pick up a veteran (ala Jesse Chatman) as insurance.

I still think they may go CB if there are no DL they like at that spot. I also think they can get a good WR later ( D Williams/Gilyard, etc)

Call me crazy, I think they will move off this pick (again).

    McCourtny/Robinson/K Jackson
    Oldrick
    Tate/Benn

Just for the record, MBG, if Graham is there he's the guy I would take in a NY minute, and I believe the Jets would as well

I didn't list him because the odds on him being there at 29 are so miniscule in my view, but I hope I'm wrong

Shonn Greene and Leon Washington is a very good combination, but in this system, we're going to need a third back. Washington is more than likely gone after this season. There's no way in hell the Jets are going to pay him what he wants.

Also, Greene and Washington cannot carry this team, even with shared carries. Neither back can take a heavy workload. Bringing in another powerful back has to be considered.

I don't think we'll go after a corner early in this draft. It just wouldn't make any sense after the Cromartie trade.

What do you mean by later? Damian Williams won't make it to the back of round two. I'm really interested to see how this Coles' situation develops...if he returns to New York, our need for a slot receiver would decrease quite a bit.

    agreed.

i know Graham's stock is rising.....but weirder things have happened in past drafts....he may fall right into our laps. :)

Also Leon Washington is coming off a "compound fracture"

I don't care how much people want to downplay it, that injury is deadly serious, especially for a RB who relies on his legs.

Maybe he bounces back and he's the same player he always was, but that is not even close to a gimmie.

That injury has ended careers, its that serious.

    DT Terrence Cody
CB Kyle Wilson(I'd still do it)
    CB Devon McCourty
    HB Ryan Matthews
    DE Lamar Houston

Graham would be my top pick but I don't think chances are great that he will be there at 29.

    OLB Sergio Kindle ("Sergio!")
    DT T.Cody
    OLB/DE E.Griffen
    G Mike Iupati
    DE C.Dunlap

I'm going on the assumption that G.Tate, Brandon Graham, and R.Matthews will all be gone.
Actually, I also wouldn't be shocked if the Jets gamble on Taylor Mays if he falls to 29.

Yeah it wouldn't be a popular pick....I just wouldn't be overly shocked if it happened.

Agreed. Price has a better future in the league as a penetrating, pass rushing, 4-3DT.

    Hopefully: OLB Brandon Graham
    Realistically:
    OG Mike Iupati
    DE Carlos Dunlap
    WR Golden Tate
    NT Terrence Cody
    RB Ryan Matthews

I dont think we go running back early we just have bigger needs look at the Giants two or three years that headed monster was composed of late round draft picks. The year the giants drafted Jacobs they had only 4 picks (same as us this year). I understand a late round pick, hell LeGarrette Blount, who is one of my favorite running backs, may even be available when we pick and even then there are still good backs like Charles Scott or James Starks (there are more of course). I'm not saying that we shouldn't consider adding another back I'm just saying I don't think it is logical to draft a running back with our first two picks
