Is it possible to trade a player for less than what you tendered him for? If so, if somebody offers a 1 or a 2 for Edwards then I wouldn't mind going after Marshall. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense to get Marshall
That is exactly what we need. Do we know of any good slot receivers in the draft or are available via trade?
Everyone who makes an offer on Marshall is sending a 1st, so I doubt he'd get traded for anything less.
I was referring to Edwards, if we can get something lower than a 1st and 3rd for Edwards (but still relatively fair value) then I would go after Marshall
You are allowed to trade for less. That said, there have been zero signs that the Jets have any interest in moving Edwards. And the best part about Edwards is that his off-field issues aren't one incident away from a year-long suspension.
According to a friend of mine, Brandon Marshall signed an offer sheet with Seattle. Apparently was just on ESPN. End thread. EDIT- CONSIDERING, hasn't signed. Stupid ESPN!
Seattles got early draft picks. I mean Marshall is great and all, but youre talking the #14th pick overall in this draft class. It could easily pay off for them, but I just didnt see it happening. Id figure the Ravens would easily be the favorites for him, then maybe youd see a few other late round teams expressing interest. (and its on Rotoworld that Seattle is strongly considering it)
Seattle needs WR help. I thought they would trade back in an attempt to grab Tate or Benn or stay where they are and pick Ford.
Don't think Bryant is a slot receiver...nor do I think he'd be happy being a 3rd receiver. Isn't he a UFA anyway?
Remember when Marshall had 18 catches after the game he got suspended? good thing they left Cromartie on him all game!
"Yahoo's Charles Robinson expects a soft market for restricted free agent Brandon Marshall due to his role in the Darrent Williams' murder. Two NFL executives told Robinson that Marshall's role in escalating the confrontation that led to Williams' death is "troubling to many." Off-field problems are nothing new for Marshall, and the high-profile court case in Denver isn't making it any easier to find a taker. We're still skeptical that he'll return to the Broncos, but they may have to significantly lower their asking price." If his ask price goes down "significantly" there could be some serious competition for this guy. I dont see him going for less than a 1st especially with the interest from Seattle but still.
I was watching NFL Total Access and Michael Lombardi says not to rule out the Jets making the deal with our #1 pick. Not sure i understand why?
Lombardi wrote a big article on it somewhere the other day saying he thinks the Jets and Ravens should be favorites to get him. I wanna say like nfl playhouse or nfl post something like that.
If a team needs a WR, Marshall for a first is a good deal. I don't know what the Ravens are waiting for
