Someone should photoshop the ball into his hands. I'd love for him not to suck so badly for just one day.
"Keep in mind that those numbers are reflective of him playing in a zone dominant, read & react type system. He is FAR better, and put up his best numbers, in a predominantly man coverage system under Wade Phillips which was more similar to the type of system the Jets run. He is a better fit here than SD. " Actually, his best year was under Cottrell in 2007. He was a rookie under Wade and didnt start, played sparingly in 2006. Cottrell played a lot of zone, lots of bend but dont break D and was ultimately fired halfway though 2008.
My bad......thought that was still Phillips. Not a Charger fan obviously. Thanks for correcting me.
In all fairness, he had pretty good coverage, just mistimed the jump. Yeah it stung pretty bad, but he was covering Austin Collie against Manning. Not exactly the matchup we were looking for.
Actually, they played their side regardless of the receivers... but Jammer was preferred against #1's. Cromartie recently complained that the Chargers played too much zone and that he preferred man coverage. Charger fans would tell you this is why: Cro would rather chase his man so he can tackle from behind rather than have him running toward him where there might be a collision. Cromartie is a pussy with a prison body. Hopefully Rex can help him discover his balls on football field. That, and keep him from teabagin another 7 hoes.
2 things scare me about this trade for us. 1-why would the Chargers give up on him when he's still in his 20's and still in his rookie contract? 2-Watching the video of Shone Greene running by him in the playoffs
I work in San Diego and have many friends there. #2 above killed the fans in SD. They are still fuming over that play, its all they talk about, lol. Probably a good idea for them to move him out of town before the SD vatos burned down the Qualcom.. I'm being serious BTW. The fans are pissed. Cromartie's like the Bill Buckner of the SD Chargers.
On the other hand, the kid has, like, 37 kids by 12 mothers. He's going to be poor as dirt when his career is over, but probably motivated to earn his next fat contract.
That's what I find interesting about this whole trade...the opinion above seems to be a common thread among Chargers fans. I have no reason to question their assessment of one of their team's players, so I take those comments at face value. I assume there is at least partial truth to these observations. However this is the polar opposite of Ryan's proclaimation of who the Jets are, and the way Jet football is played. In fact Kerry Rhodes was in Ryan's doghouse last season for that very thing. So, if that is the case, why would the Jets be interested in Cromartie? Ryan has to have seen something he likes, or believes that he can change the way Cromartie plays the game, or why did they make this deal ?
Because he was very unhappy in san diego. where does he rank? i'd say third after revis and asmougoug or whatever his name is
Truth is....Shonn Greene would have dropped his shoulder and ran over Cromartie if he had squared up in front of him.
The woman in San Diego are beautiful and he can't stop impregnating them. He'll be better off here with our Dirty Jersey girls.
I know you are making a joke, but if Greene had to run him over that would have slowed him down enough for Weddle to hold on. Remember, this was th biggest game of the year, in the 4th quarter, down by three points and he pulled that shit.
If the safety did not drop like a cheap whore Cromartie's roll in that play would have been mostly forgotten. But with greene crushing the safety and breaking for a TD the focus goes back to Cromartie.
"Cromartie's like the Bill Buckner of the SD Chargers." No, that honor belongs to nate kaeding. Cromartie is more like Calvin Schiraldi.
