I'm guessing he realizes that his days of a starting QB in the NFL are over. I would have liked to see him land a starting role on some team, but I'm sure if he thought that was possible, he would have tested the FA a little more

Damn, I have nothing but respect for Chad, I hate to see this as the way his career ends....

He's wearing teal. I hope Harris tears his shoulder again.

This doesn't really surprise me, but with all the teams who could badly use a veteran QB (Buf, Car, Oak, Cle, Ari, Stl) he might've had the chance to start somewhere.

Supposedly things broke down b/c Miami wouldn't include a no trade so we'll see where this heads. I would love him back here as Sanchez's backup but as long as he is out of Miami I'll be happy.

Yeah, i just read that on a couple of different websites, Chad wanted a "No trade clause" but the dolphins didn't agree with it so theres a chance no deal gets done after all.

Arizona could be an ideal situation for him, playing indoors (essentially) and having a few talented WR's with him. Even injured he's a better alternative then Leinart. He might not have the arm strength to play in that system but he'd compete for a starting job.

I would love to have Chad here too! They were talking about it on NFL Network last night that he has a good chance to come back here. I know there are hard feelings left over from what happened in 2008. If they can resolve those issues I think he would have a good chance to come back here. Arizona is anther possibility as well.

This is almost better news then picking up Cromartie. Thank god I don't ever have to see this guy in a Jet uniform. Now, lets replace Clemens and we will be set. Uggg, just read talks broke down... aahhh, the Jets are so over Chad anyway, just gotta hear about him from the noodle arm apoligists.

He needs to either be content being a backup or hang it up. Three is a magic number - the number of shoulder surgeries one should have before retirement apparently.

Would the Dolphins dare consider a trade with the Bills for Thigpen?

I got Nate Robinson on the Celtics now, too. What's next? Patrick Elias on the Rangers?
