I want Smith to stay, he worked good in the wildcat and proved to be very effective this year when needed to.

Yeah, I like this guy for our offense. Towards the beginning of the year I wondered a little bit about our Wildcat package, but he was pretty explosive in that Bengals game. And of course, the big pass in the playoffs was pretty sweet too.

How good a passer is he nowadays, anyway? Did he seem viable at QB coming out of college? I wouldn't mind us running some basic schemes out of the pistol

I don't think anyone will give up a second for Smith, I think we should hold on to Smith, he is so effective for our seminole formation, and the only other team that uses gadget plays a lot are the Dolphins so if they really want to stick with the wildcat then I guess they might want to take him for a second, but I doubt it, but then again Ronnie Brown did get injured again, He may not bounce back like he did last time.

Nobody is going to take Smith for a 2nd but I hope we get a long term deal done with him so long as it isn't too costly

That's just asking to lose Smith, and clearly the Jets don't want to lose him. He might not get signed even for a 4th, but there's no real reason to get rid of Smith.

Brad Smith is not worth a #2 tender. I'm not sure what team would pay even a 3rd round pick for him.

This is good... His role on the team is unclear because his returning ability + running the seminole won't be used as much with Leon back... but if a team signs LEon then he becomes essential.
