Did everyone suddenly forget why the Cardinals want to get rid of a talented, physical WR when Matt Leinart is going to need all of the help he can get?
I would be happy with either Boldin or the pick. I have no problem with the team having to move Cotch into the slot position (which will definitely happen if such a trade would go down). J-Co has all the tools to be a TREMENDOUS slot guy. I don't see why his role would diminish. If you bring these pieces in, the onus goes on Schotty to adjust his offense accordingly. Plain and simple. But, as I said, I would be just fine with the pick as well.
I think we could easily use them rotationally depending on the package. I'm certain we could keep them all happy. Our 3 WR sets would be beastly and our running game would likely open up with Cotch, Braylon, and Boldin.
Yep, Revis is one of the biggest. Harris only made about 500,000 last year, he has kept quiet, but probably not for long.
Cotchery has more than earned an every down role with the team. I really wouldn't like to see our best WR(practically speaking) disrespected in the face like that.
As awesome as it would be to pick up Boldin, I'd rather the pick, especially seeing as this draft is extra deep.
If this were an option I would take Boldin. Line those 3 up at WR with Greene and Leon at RB and Keller at tight end. That would be pretty nice.
Yea I think next offseason we will see a ton of new contracts given out. Hopefully we have the money for all of them cause I would hate to lose a guy like Harris
No, of course not. But, I do believe they can adjust the offense to the point where J-Co will get just as many opportunities as he's done in the past out of the slot. Also, Boldin and Edward's ability to block would allow the Jets to still run with a high level of success out of those 3WR sets. And (most importantly), you better believe J-Co will always be out there on the field when a play is needed. They can make the adjustments, IMO.
did Boldin acquire a bionic hamstring over the offseason?....because if he shows up with the hamstring he's had over the last few seasons.....we might not see him on the field that much.
Or, we can take the pick, draft an actual slot WR or Jones' replacement, not spend a fuck-ton of money on 3 starting WRs while one of them is underutilized, and actually have the WR corps taken care of for at least 5 years instead of putting together a Pro Bowl roster of WRs with an unsustainable total price tag and actually try to improve this team for the long run? I'm not saying having Boldin on the roster will hurt the team next season but if the Jets get him it will only be a short-term deal. Two, maybe three, seasons tops and Boldin is already 29 years old. He is not going to be around much longer, given his playing style and the injuries he has already collected. Drafting a slot WR would actually be a long term investment who could make an impact on this team and give Schottenheimer something to help Sanchez develop without overpaying the position.
To bad we don't have enough money to sign Boldin to the deal he'd want... but it would be value... I don't know... I'm torn.
