It's interesting how on TGG Clausen and Suh are ahead of Bradford and McCoy while among NFL evaluators it seems to be the other way around... personally I feel for the Lions McCoy is a better fit (as of now)...
I cannot stand how anyone could ever think McCoy is a better prospect than Suh. I'm directing this towards all the experts saying this, not you. McCoy 3 year totals: 83 tackles, 33 TFL, 14 sacks, 4 pass deflected, 1 INT, 2 FF, 18 hurries, 0 BK Suh senior year totals: 85 tackles, 24 TFL, 12 sacks, 10 passes deflected, 1 INT, 1 FF, 28 hurries, 3 BK The season Suh had last year was amazing. Mayock and McShay say that McCoy is a better athlete and pass rusher. And I have no idea what theyre basing this on. Cant be there production and stats, clearly. Cant be from the combine where Suh put up better numbers in almost everything, even being 10 lbs heavier. McCoy could be a better fit for Lions, that I wasnt really sure of. But I hate how Mayock and the experts can even debate that McCoy is a better DT prospect.
Actually, today Mayock admitted that this is one of those cases where he was going to go back and review game tape on McCoy and Suh, since Suh did perform better at the combine. He seemed to be open to flipping them in his rankings.
Keep in mind in the first TGG mock I was the Lions GM and picked Suh... that said I like the way Mayock compares Suh to Williams (Vikings) and McCoy to more of a Sapp kind of player. I really haven't made up my mind yet as to who is the best in the long run...
Missed that. But he'll still probably view them as 1A and 1B. When I think it should be more like 1- Suh . . 2- McCoy
Just to add some fire: According to CBS' Charley Casserly, the consensus at the Combine was that Gerald McCoy is a slightly better prospect than Ndamukong Suh. Suh had more college production in a read-and-react scheme and easily had a better Combine, but NFL evaluators apparently still think McCoy offers more upside. "It's a little more McCoy 1A and Suh 1B," said Casserly. "I ask two questions: Who's the better athlete and who's the better pass rusher? McCoy comes up more often than not as the yes guy there."
LOL, I dont think anyone will. With the Jags not having a 2nd rounder they make the pick that will be talked about up until training camp. They need someone to put people in the seats. Half publicity pick, half need.
