Thanks. I wore out the grooves on Rides Again when it came out. "The Bomber" was one of the first "hard rock" tunes I ever learned. All but the trippy, Ravel's Bolero section, of course.

This song blew my 14-year-old mind when I first listened to "Appetite For Destruction".

How about a newer band (with the 64 year old bassist)?

    These guys rock.

  15. ^ Great post. That's one of the best albums I've heard in about 10 years. What a strange mix of players which works perfectly. I love Josh Homme's phrasing and guitar work.

  16. My favorite song of Satch's. Anybody recognize him with hair?

  18. Jetfanmack's mentioning of Them Crooked Vultures reminded me of another diverse group of musicians in a new band: Chickenfoot. Although not as good as TCV's record, it's a pretty good effort. It's got a cool 70s vibe. This song reminds me of "Rock Candy" by Montrose, Sammy's first big gig.

Still one of my favorite riffs/tunes to jam on.

  19. Great live version of this Sex pistols classic. Steve Jones is firing out massive power chords.

Soap on a Rope is my favorite song on that CD. Love that powerful guitar riff. Hagar's lyrics are crappy as usual, but Satch's guitar rocks that song.

I just re-downloaded QOTSA-Songs for the Deaf. When I bought that album, it blew my mind.
