According to NFL Network's Mike Mayock, there were "rumors" that Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant was out of shape several weeks ago.

Mayock considers Bryant a top-five prospect, but Hakeem Nicks wasn't drafted until the late-first round after getting out of shape last spring, and may have the brightest future of any wideout drafted in 2009. Bryant will need to be in tip-top shape and probably run a sub-4.5 on Sunday to be a top-ten pick.

Could this be some kind of sign? I found this rather interesting since I agree that Hakeem Nicks might be the 2nd best WR in the 09 draft (Behind Percy Harvin) and if Dez falls over a 40 YD...it could be a free fall right to #29.

The Combine will settle all these rumors. Dez Bryant should do fine in the Combine, he's not a speedster.

Talk is cheap.....we'll find out soon enough.

Bryant is unquestioned the best receiver in the draft, i can not imagine him falling that far.
If he did fall that far it would bc of his interviews and questionable character. He would be the only wr that we should consider in the first, we have much greater needs then the wr position.

Dez Bryant's character isn't in question, any longer. The only thing Bryant did wrong, was lie when asked about his relationship with Neon Deion. He got nervous and made a stupid error in judgement. If he told the truth, he never would have been suspended.

I really think Dez Bryant can be the next great big/physical receiver in the NFL.....some compare him to a bigger Ochocinco.

I'd could see him suffering a Jeremy Maclin-like slip, but I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't go top 20 - especially since this isn't a great WR class this year. But who knows, everyone had Devin Thomas top 10 and he fell to the second round.
